As a member of our exceptional design team, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of our UX framework and UI patterns as we grow into our evolving brand identity. You will take risks and push design boundaries while constantly advocating for our members, partners, and coaches. You will partner tightly with product and engineering to understand pain points, validate your designs, collaborate, adjust, and iterate quickly. You will thrive in an ego-free environment that values finding the best outcomes.

What you’ll do:

  • Will be a leading voice in defining our product — addressing difficult challenges with bold, holistic solutions and navigating numerous unknowns in a fast-paced environment
  • Partner with a cross-functional team, including Product Managers, Engineers, and Data Scientists, to make key decisions and define problems, goals, and solutions to launch new features and services
  • You'll lead design projects from brief, research, and concept exploration through prototyping, visual design details, interaction design, motion design, and stewardship through development
  • You will organize and conduct user research and test prototypes to understand people's needs and emotions and the resonance of our product—synthesizing the results to inspire empathy and bring clarity to the broader team

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching products
  • Passionate about our mission to "help every person pursue their life with clarity, purpose, and passion"
  • Naturally curious and enjoy pushing the boundaries of what's possible
  • Methodical with strong attention to detail
  • Self-directed and biased towards action
  • Constantly improving and welcoming feedback through collaboration
  • Expert verbal and written communicator with remote teams
  • Previous experience contributing as the primary senior level Product Designer 
  • Adept at finding solutions that integrate both business and user needs
  • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching products
  • Experience leading the end-to-end design process, including user research, with a strong passion for UX design
  • Strong design portfolio that demonstrates depth of skill in both UX and UI
  • Experience communicating and demonstrating prototypes in various states of polish to teammates and stakeholders using the latest tools (Figma, Framer, etc) 
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices across platforms such as iOS, Android, React, etc.

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this role is $142,250 - $241,500. 

If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is: 

$161,000 - $241,500 : New York City

$151,500 - $227,300: Nassau, Newburgh

$142,250 - $213,350 : Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse
