About Mixpanel
Founded in 2009, Mixpanel was designed to remove the abstractions of data analysis and make it fast and easy to get answers from your data.
We’ve been fortunate to partner with builders across all industries. A builder is someone who creates and leads change. They build new companies, products, services, brands, or communities. Building is creative because it is collaborative. Builders have a vision and ideas. It has been surreal to witness the progress in the world that came through these companies. New builders are showing up, categories are getting invented, and the pace of change feels faster than before.
At Mixpanel, we believe in builders — people who endeavor to create and lead change. Whether it’s through building new companies, products, services, brands, or communities. We’re a design-forward company, our brand, interface and ease of use are why customers choose Mixpanel over alternatives. Teams of every size use Mixpanel to understand their customers’ behaviors across their web and mobile products. With Mixpanel, anyone can validate their ideas quickly and confidently.
About the Team
We’re a tight-knit, collaborative group from a wide range of backgrounds who love combining research, data insights, and peer feedback into a user-centered process. Check us out! You’ll work closely with Product and Engineering to decide what we build. Then you’ll research, refine and remove (less is more) until you’ve landed on something that genuinely helps our customers. You’ll be given the space to do great work and supported by teammates who sweat the details.
Responsibilities
- As an individual contributor working on qualitative analysis or data model and integrations initiatives, you’ll have the opportunity to partner with some of our most senior and talented designers, product managers and engineers
- Impact our company strategy for retention and adoption by turning analysis into ideas, designing workflows, and delivering detailed interactions to bring them to life
- Scope roadmap projects alongside your Product, Research, and Engineering counterparts. You'll then decompose and sequence the work to achieve measurable outcomes
- Conduct user research and use Mixpanel to test and validate concepts and features, evolving what we know about our current and future Mixpanel customers
- Partner with Customer Success and Support to identify and smooth out friction areas where there might be an over-reliance on customer support help
- Collaborate with Brand designers to ensure continuity across the entire experience, from email to website and into the product
- Pull from a variety of inclusive workshop approaches that bring out the best input from other team members
What Are Some Early Initiatives?
- Iterate on and refine Data Warehouse Connectors. Based on customer feedback and business goals, add more sync types and configuration options and add the ability to ingest metric tables, instead of just events
- Iterate and refine our Session Replay feature and partner with design and PM to shape the vision for our continued investment in qualitative analysis features
About You
- You've been a product designer for several years and are experienced working on digital products people depend on daily
- You’re a systems thinker. You look beyond a specific problem or solution, and seek context to consider the user’s experience as a whole and design solutions that fit into the user journey
- Your UI polish is consistently strong, requiring only minor adjustments and critiques. You're trusted by peers to ship consistently exceptional work. You're a model for reliability in your execution
- You have a knack for data and can utilize analytics tools to understand how your designs affect people at scale. You know how to extract insight from successful and unsuccessful experiments, learn, and identify what you could do differently in the future
- You manage your workload proactively, suggesting solutions to competing demands. You anticipate issues or requirements on projects and can work through ambiguity with people on your team
- You communicate clearly and openly with your peers. You clearly frame problems and justify decision making
- You're a terrific empathizer and can share in someone else's experiences by imagining what it would be like to be in that person's shoes
