Challenges You Will Solve

You will join a mission-driven Product Design team with a strong dedication to our customers by ensuring that the design and experience of our products are seamless, meaningful, and valuable. Each Product Designer will be ingrained with Engineering and collaborate on one or more product teams consisting of a Product Manager and up to 6-8 engineers, while also working with other cross-functional groups. Together, you will own a part of Red Canary, ship solutions to complex problems, and capture feedback from interacting directly with customers.

What You'll Do

  • Work through design problems from beginning to end, using design principles that form ground-breaking new products and features. 
  • Collaborate and partner with designers, engineers and product managers across the organization to raise the bar of quality and continuously improve Red Canary’s design processes, principles, systems, and tooling.
  • Prototype and design high level mockups in Figma.
  • Work closely with product managers to validate solutions.
  • Use and contribute to Red Canary’s design system (components, variables, and styles) to create consistent user experiences through Red Canary’s portal.
  • Develop high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience web applications and SaaS products. You have helped ship customer-centric products that tackle real problems on an enterprise scale.
  • 5+ years of experience with the entire product development process; from problem solving and system modeling, to detailed interface, to prototypes, to interaction design, visual, and service design.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to help people across the company understand the rationale behind your proposals and navigate complex nuances of design problems.
  • An ambitious spirit and ability to deeply collaborate cross-functionally including product management, engineering, research, and analytics.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with a web developer by providing clear requirements, high-fidelity mock-ups, while following best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage, work independently, and meet expectations and deadlines
  • A strong voice for our users and their needs through research, empathy, and understanding.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver — always looking beyond the available options when up against roadblocks
  • Expertise in figma and using Figma features such as Components, Variables, Styles, design systems.
  • Experience in modular design, responsiveness, and accessibility.
  • Working iteratively to promote extensibility and reuse while employing modular design thinking
  • Stringing multiple related mockups into a complex prototype that demonstrates a user’s journey 
  • Working knowledge in CSS3.0, SCSS and writing complex stylesheet scripts such as functions, mixins and nested structures.
  • Creating HTML/SCSS bootstrap templates and prototypes

Targeted base salary: $141,000 - $170,000 + bonus eligibility and equity depending on experience.
