Team Description

As the Senior Product Designer on Safety Tools you will own the design for Reddit’s core Safety tool that empowers Reddit to find, review, and act on harmful content and behavior on Reddit. Your focus will be on keeping Reddit’s users and moderators safe through detecting and correcting harmful behavior. You will deeply understand the unique needs of Reddit moderation and partner with Research, Engineering, Product, and Community members to keep Reddit safe for our communities and members.

Safety is part of the larger Core Experience UX Team — whose aim is to make every day on Reddit simpler and more delightful to all of our community members. The Core Experience team is responsible for shepherding core Product Design journeys on Reddit.

What you’ll do

  • Greenfield design of safety tools in order to keep Reddit communities safe for our users
  • Collaborate with product managers and researchers to design a strong UX point of view to innovative internal tools that will significantly improve user experience for Reddit moderators and community members
  • Understand the unique needs of businesses and translate those to delightful product features that will be successful on Reddit
  • Design a holistic experience connecting the internal tools with the end-user experience
  • Execute at every stage of the design lifecycle from ideation to delivery; develop and drive the design milestones and roadmap
  • Deliver prescient user insights across diverse areas of focus that are non-obvious and lead to innovative design solutions
  • Build consensus across diverse teams through effective exploration and communication and present to design peers and senior executives

Who you might be

  • 5+ years of work experience
  • An excellent online portfolio showcasing UX and UI design work for tools
  • Experience in enterprise workflows, strong information architecture skills, and ability to think through complex user ecosystems and content life cycles
  • Comfortable working with and discussing sensitive social media topics and content
  • Strong written and presentation skills as the position requires working closely with partners across the company
  • Humble and motivated to ship the best product; you're always thinking about how to improve the experience for the end user.
  • Previous relevant experience in understanding how businesses can successfully integrate with consumer platforms is a plus

Pay Transparency:

This job posting may span more than one career level.

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is: $169,900 - $254,900.
