Job Summary

The Equinix Digital Interconnection Product Management team is looking for a Product Manager with a track record of growing and continually improving network products and services. This is an opportunity to advance our optical metro transport services for how companies around the world will architect and deploy next generation networking infrastructure. You will enable companies both established and emerging transform and control their digital ecosystem.

The Product Management team works closely with our Sales and Marketing teams to guide products from concept to market adoption and rapid growth. As part of the Product Management team, you will bridge the technical and business worlds as you define, validate and deliver services that our customers love. You'll collaborate closely with customers and partners, marketing, engineering, solution architects, and operations counterparts to deliver and improve innovative network interconnection features. You have a bias toward hands-on action and can break down complex problems into iterative solutions that drive product and customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the metro connect strategy to power the world’s digital leaders with digital infrastructure
  • Partner with and deeply listen to customers, users, and field sales to identify unmet needs and new use case opportunities
  • Identify competitive and alternative offerings in the market. Assess their strengths and weaknesses. Develop a strategy for winning against the competition
  • Manage and communicate the product roadmap. Participate in creating a shared vision and clear goals for the product
  • Collaborate closely with technology teams to provide clear priority and direction on Agile product backlog, epic and user story requirements, and solution delivery
  • Partner with internal groups to define metrics and execute projects to improve efficiency and customer experience
  • Be an active leader and participant in pre- and post-release activities, including customer guidance, documentation and support
  • Run the business: analyze and optimize value chain activities for operational and financial business performance, conduct compelling business reviews with the executive leadership team
  • Maintain management dashboard views of key performance indicators status and actions
  • Become a subject matter expert and evangelist for the internet exchange peering product

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Product Manager, Product Marketing or a Technical Marketing Engineer in networking or related field
  • A first-hand understanding of current optical and data networking products and technologies, including DWDM, Dark Fiber, Transport, IP/BGP routing, peering, firewalls, NAT, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong technical abilities and an extreme attention to detail and ability to self-audit work
  • The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects. Familiarity with business issues, or the ability to quickly learn
  • Ability to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent experience desired
  • Experience with developing network automation systems in an enterprise environment
  • Networking and Cloud computing certifications
  • Familiar with Agile development methodology and the product owner/backlog owner role

The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:

  • San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $143,000 to $235,000
  • California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $137,000 to $225,000
  • Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $124,000 to $204,000

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

This position may be offered in other locations. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
