What this role is about:

The RapidSOS team is looking for a driven Senior Product Manager to help us apply new intelligence to the platform we have built. As a Senior Product Manager at RapidSOS, you will have a key role in our Product organization. You will drive planning, coordination, and delivery of product solutions. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Engineering, Product, Sales and Marketing teams to create valuable product roadmaps and drive adoption of new features. This role will focus on working closely with our 100+ tech partners and all the infrastructure that supports them. Examples of recent work on this team include building systems that allow thousands of first responders to be notified immediately when a train derailment occurs; developing automation that saves time and speeds emergency response; and deploying insights that help prove this value to our customers and partners.

What you’ll do:

  • Own one or more major thematic focus areas for the product team, responsible for guiding long-term strategy, shaping business decisions, and driving cross-functional success
  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders to create detailed product roadmaps, present priorities, roadmaps and timelines to internal stakeholders and successfully deliver working software
  • Collaborate with product, engineering and target customers to gather requirements, understand dependencies and deadlines, and identify risks and opportunities
  • Write and maintain user stories throughout the entire software development life cycle
  • Work with UI/UX and Engineering teams to successfully deliver working and valuable software with an understanding of dependencies, deadlines, risks and opportunities
  • Effectively communicate new product launches - through written communication, as well as presentation and training formats - to all relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and lead areas in which the Product team can take ourselves to the next level, whether it be from a process or product perspective
  • Understand market dynamics and identify customer challenges that represent significant market opportunities for RapidSOS
  • Help coach and mentor junior team members; lead by example and help build best practices

What we’re looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in a product management role, ideally with enterprise software development experience
  • Comfort making important decisions through a structured approach with limited guidance and significant ambiguity
  • Proven ability to discover user needs, develop and validate product hypotheses, and develop a strategic product roadmap
  • Confidence using data to prioritize and develop success metrics, and doing both in contexts of imperfect information
  • Effective communication skills in a variety of settings and with different stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and self-motivated ability to deliver and manage a project from ideation to launch
  • Strong sense of urgency and a mindset for ruthless prioritization; ability to iterate on MVPs
  • Innate curiosity and hands-on approach with an attitude that no task is either too big or small
  • Mission-oriented and impact-driven mindset - we are building products that save lives
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10-15% of the time

Bonus:

  • Experience working in or with government or public sector organizations, or other highly regulated and complex industries

What we offer:
