Senior Product Manager - Payments & Spend

The Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to oversee, innovate, and drive the growth of the payments and spend part of our business. Customers use our payments platform to pay suppliers and corporate expenses using physical and virtual cards, ACH transfers, and mailed checks. Through our platform, we process close to $3B in payments on an annual basis.
As a product manager, you will oversee all aspects of the payments and spend product offerings with direct responsibility for growing both sides of the business including increasing transactional revenue, transaction volume, and the number of customers and suppliers on the network. You will set product strategy, drive and execute on the product roadmap, lead feature enhancements, own a world-class/high-growth product, and manage other product managers.
The ideal candidate has prior product management/payments experience in a B2B SaaS/fintech environment, is highly analytical and is a phenomenal written and verbal communicator, leads through influence internally and externally, and thrives in a highly visible role (including senior, and C-Suite levels). This is a high visibility role that would work closely with the Head of Product, Head of Engineering, Head of Operations and Product Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product strategy/roadmap/capabilities for fast-growing the payments and spend products; acting as product owner and subject matter expert.
- Partner closely with the Head of Product, Head of Engineering, Head of Operations and Product Marketing to drive business, product, and customer growth.
- Translate a product vision and strategy into tactical plans; leading and influencing internal teams to execute on those plans.
- Define, measure, and improve key product metrics.
- Build effective relationships, communicate, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including gathering and translating requirements and executing on plans.
- Leverage data and analytics to drive decisions, features, strategy, and customer experience.
- Act as a player coach while managing and developing other product managers focused on the payments and spend product areas.
- Oversee product rollout and release plans, testing plans, internal and external training materials, and all the last-minute decision-making required to get something incredible out the door.
- Collaborate with operations to ingest customer feedback, understand customer needs, and develop future improvements.
- Present recommendations, decisions, and accompanying analyses to senior leadership to build alignment and gain buy-in.
- Conduct research and competitive intelligence to identify and capitalize on market and product opportunities. Work closely with Product Marketing to drive adoption and growth.
- Manage complex product issues, quickly analyzing problems and providing recommendations that inform roadmap priorities and address the needs of clients and key stakeholders.
- Lead other projects, duties, and initiatives, as assigned.
Ingredients
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management at an agile B2B SaaS/Fintech company.
- 2+ years of payments and/or spend experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excels as a player coach with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team of product managers.
- Strong analytical skills are a must. Excel, P&L, financial modeling proficiency is preferred. (SQL experience is a bonus as well).
- Prior startup experience with a willingness to wear multiple hats, innovate, strategize and roll up sleeves in a fast-paced and evolving startup environment.
- Experience in a remote environment with a strong ability to engage, lead, and communicate within a global context across time zones.
- Thrive in a highly visible role with accountability in front of customers, Senior and C-Suite leader
- Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships and collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, product marketers etc. to deliver products.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate teams, manage stakeholders, and work cross-functionally.
- Preference to candidates based out of the West Coast
