Senior Product Manager, Subscription & Retention

We are seeking a talented Senior Product Manager to join our Go To Market product team, a role that sits at the core of our subscription-based business. As a vital contributor to our team, you will be responsible for leading the product experience in key areas including subscription plans/packages, checkout, and cancellation.
This high-leverage, high-visibility role will be instrumental in driving the strategy and execution for our subscription models, optimizing the checkout experience, and managing cancellation processes. Your efforts will directly impact our customer experience and business results, reaffirming our commitment to offering the best subscription service to inspire the world through stories and knowledge.
You will:
• Contribute to the product strategy, vision, and execution for subscription plans/packages, optimizing these for customer needs and business profitability.
• Oversee the checkout process, ensuring it is smooth, efficient, and user-friendly, optimizing conversion rates and customer satisfaction.
• Manage the cancellation process, implementing improvements where needed to minimize customer churn and maximize retention.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Analytics, Product Marketing, Engineering and Customer Service teams to design, develop, test, and launch new features and improvements.
• Utilize data-driven decision-making to improve the user experience, driving key business metrics.
• Understand customer needs and behaviors by conducting research, data analysis, and usability testing.
• Monitor and analyze product performance, using insights to inform future product development.
You have:
• 5+ years of experience in product management in a B2C company
• Experience in designing and optimizing subscription plans/packages
• Knowledge of checkout optimization tactics, with a strong understanding of the customer journey, and a proven track record of improving conversion rates.
• Understanding of cancellation processes and strategies aimed at minimizing churn and maximizing customer retention.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
• Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong data-driven decision-making skills, with experience in using analytics tools and conducting A/B tests to inform product decisions.
• Knowledge of user experience (UX) best practices, with a keen eye for intuitive design and user journeys.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
• Experience in managing product development in a fast-paced, agile environment.
At Scribd, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location. San Francisco is our highest geographic market in the United States. In the state of California, the reasonably expected salary range is between $136,000 [minimum salary in our lowest geographic market within California] to $220,000[maximum salary in our highest geographic market within California].
Outside of California, the reasonably expected salary range is between $112,000[minimum salary in our lowest US geographic market outside of California] to $209,000 [maximum salary in our highest US geographic market outside of California].
We carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including but not limited to experience; job-related skill sets; relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs. The salary range listed is for the level at which this job has been scoped. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for a competitive equity ownership, and a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
