The team
The Exchange Product Team within the Trading Group is responsible for developing best in class trading products and infrastructure allowing our clients to connect to Kraken and trade via our low latency APIs and high performance user interfaces. Our team builds a range of trading services including the matching engines, algorithms, APIs, market data, alerting, and client reporting.
The opportunity
- Contribute to the development of the overall product strategy, roadmap, and business plan
- Perform research and competitive analysis to gain market insights across the industry
- Work closely with key stakeholders to define detailed product and business requirements
- Engage in extensive User Acceptance Testing to ensure products are built to requirements
- Evaluate new product opportunities and bring forward proposals to engage sophisticated traders, investors and institutions
- Work with other teams to help manage engagement with clients, internal and external parties
- Evangelize the power of analytics and experimentation in building a data-driven organization
- Actively manage product backlog, pre planning, prioritization and user story mapping sessions
- Develop product documentation, specifications, wireframes, site-maps, and process flows.
- Facilitate communication across all project phases and proactively alert management of changes to scope, timelines and resources
Skills you should HODL
- Intimate knowledge of trading ecosystem participants, their different incentives and constraints
- First hand experience in trading on cryptocurrency exchanges
- 4+ years of product management experience
- Strong quantitative and analysis skills, including SQL and a language like Python
- Strong grasp of information architecture and user experience best practices
- Solution oriented, highly-motivated and proactive self-starter with first-principles thinking
- Macro-to-micro versatility: strategic mindset coupled with obsessive attention to detail
- Well-rounded interpersonal skills, and experience interacting with diverse personalities
- Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities
- Deep understanding of project management principles and best practices, including ticket management in tools like JIRA
- Experience in traditional finance and/or the digital asset space
- Familiarity with REST, Websockets and FIX protocols
- Experience working in a regulated environment and collaborating with legal and compliance
- Background in computer science, software engineering or applied mathematics
Preferred skills
- Understanding of margin trading, futures, FX, and/or options
- Understanding of custody and settlement mechanisms, prime brokerage and algorithmic execution
