About the Team
The Finance team comprises 14 people split around 4 pillars: FP&A, Finance Operations, Controlling and Legal. As part of the Controlling Team, you'll be involved with Typeform's accounting, treasury, compliance, and tax functions but focusing on Revenue financial flows and accounting. They are a growing multinational 6 people team who bring vigour, humour, and empathy to support each other's success and well-being. Sounds interesting? Read-on, then tell us about you.
Here's what you’ll do:
- Track and record revenue streams and related commissions initiated both from within Typeform and through its partner channels
- Prepare deferred revenue analyses, reconciliations, and journal entries
- Collaborate with Sales to optimize customer collections process including AR recoverability
- Work with Deal Desk to ensure contractual terms maximise benefit and minimise risk in terms of revenue recognition
- Automate processes as well as implement and monitor controls
- Resolve queries with the sales and customer success teams
- Support the submission of international sales taxes returns
- Assist with annual financial audit by preparing supporting documentation
- Calculate and account for sales commissions
- Collaborate with counterparts within Typeform to proactively engage in its growth and evolution
What you already bring to the table
- A qualified accountant with 7+ years of accounting experience in international technology companies
- Strong accounting and analytical skills, ability to problem solve, with advanced knowledge of Excel
- Technical and practical knowledge of revenue recognition standards (IFRS/Spanish GAAP)
- Strong business orientation combined with unquestionable integrity and ethics
- Advanced written and spoken English
- An ability to handle pressure and ambiguity without compromising quality of work
- Experience building cross-functional relationships with key external and internal stakeholders as well as with business leaders
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure; dependable with deliverables and deadlines, able to multitask
Extra Awesome:
- Have experience with Netsuite and/or Chargebee
- Have worked in a SaaS/subscription-based business
- Have knowledge of the Spanish tax and regulatory environment
