Your Impact
As a contributor in the APX platform engineering organization, you are passionate about delivering solutions to the real-time problems our mission-critical cloud native services encounter. You are also obsessed about achieving the high quality and reliability our customers demand. You will work closely not only with cloud ops teams worldwide but your technical deliverables will reach the entire engineering organization to enable product teams to continuously deliver features on the vanguard of innovation.
What You'll Do
Location: London, England or Remote in the U.K.
- Design, build and maintain infrastructure primitives for Axon’s next generation cloud platform.
- Perform infrastructure standardisation and unification across all Axon business units and geographies.
- Design, build and support CI/CD pipelines to deliver this infrastructure on demand.
- Automate routine maintenance of the cloud platform with minimal downtime (4x9s availability).
- Provide robust documentation for use by engineers to promote self-service
- Take calculated risks, champion new ideas, and cultivate your craft.
What You Bring
- 10+ years experience working on globally diverse 24/7 high volume systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug problems in cloud native distributed systems.
- Fluency with large scale (multi-team, multi-branch) CI/CD patterns.
- Familiarity with the GitOps approach to software delivery.
- Design and delivery of infrastructure-as-code on public cloud (in descending order of preference: Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience operating production Kubernetes clusters at scale.
- Familiarity with building flexible and testable Infrastructure as Code modules.
- Experience in one or more of these common languages used at Axon: Python, Golang, Scala.
- Experience designing tooling to simplify the operational management of SaaS/PaaS systems.
- Empathy to support the needs of software engineers.
- Ability to obtain UK SC security clearance. 5 years UK residency.
