We are looking for an established Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing, distributed team at Coforma!

This Senior Site Reliability Engineer enjoys tackling complex problems while working with other members of our cross-disciplinary teams to deliver elegant solutions across a full, modern technology stack. You are a self-starter, with strong experience overseeing the building and deployment of code and data, automating processes, enabling CI/CD frameworks using agile delivery practices and infrastructure as code. You are an experienced engineer, comfortable with back-end development, and you believe in crafting code that is accessible, maintainable, documented, and tested. You will lead your team through issue resolution by evaluating trade-offs and presenting options and approaches to our partners and colleagues.

This is a US-based remote position.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with the product teams, government/client stakeholders, and other contractors to build new systems and make improvements to existing systems
  • Work across multiple workstreams, supporting agile engineering practices including Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, and Infrastructure as Code
  • Work with researchers, designers, government/client stakeholders, and other engineers to understand and articulate requirements and constraints 
  • Articulate the benefits and risks associated with different approaches in different functional environments
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software applications 
  • Support new features and applications development to improve existing software 
  • Analyze problems and determine appropriate course correction measures as necessary 
  • Demonstrate a passion for learning, ability to create and adapt systems, and ability to collaborate with creative, technical, and business stakeholders and team members

What You Know

  • Enterprise architecture skills including application, information, and infrastructure
  • Experience with AWS services like CloudWatch, Lambda, container runtimes (EKS, ECS), IAM, ALB, etc.
  • Experience in automating Cloud Platform infrastructure (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Experience with security, monitoring and analysis tools such as Datadog, Splunk, SonarQube, NewRelic, Nessus, etc.
  • Experience in security aspects of cloud infrastructure, vulnerability scanning and remediation, threat modeling & detection, static and dynamic testing, security documentation
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar configuration management software
  • Experience in DevOps, continuous delivery and automation using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Packer, CloudBees Jenkins, Nexus, etc.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Strong technical documentation skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience with Python, Ruby, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, or other open-source programming language
  • 5+ years experience in DevSecOps/Infrastructure Automation
  • 4+ years experience working in a professional agile environment
  • 4+ years experience working with APIs

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience working on a remote team or remote freelancing
  • Prior professional services, government, or federal consulting experience
  • Experience in web development a plus
  • Familiarity with FHIR/SMART on FHIR and CQL a plus
  • Experience working with PHI/PII a plus
  • The ideal applicant will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, flexible, innovative, and attentive to detail

The annual salary range for this position is $141,000—$163,000/year.

This role is required to work from the contiguous United States.
