Salary Range
$160K-$210k base salary, 0.15%-0.3% equity
The Role
We are hiring an infrastructure expert who can inform key architectural decisions and help Motion scale the next 2 orders of magnitude. You’ll work closely with our ambitious engineering team to improve our the quality of Motion’s infrastructure. You’ll improve reliability of Motion’s systems, and create tooling to improve observability and availability, and set up processes to reduce incident response efforts. This is a critical role for Motion as we scale - you will play a big part in defining the role and our engineering culture.
Responsibilities
- Improve observability, reliability, and availability of Motion’s systems (servers, database, k8s, network, etc)
- Own architectural decisions and the technical build-out as we scale
- Lead incident response efforts and create processes to reduce their severity
- Increase automation to increase system scale and reduce manual systems work
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Systems Engineering role
- Experience designing, analyzing, troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment, supporting multiple concurrent projects
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services e.g. Cloud Run, GKE
- Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform), and infrastructure monitoring tools, (e.g DataDog, Prometheus)
- Understanding of networking (eg. TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, VPC) and database systems (SQL, Postgres)
