We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior SRE, you will play a crucial role in driving our products to success by building and maintaining a stable, scalable, sustainable, and efficient system. You will collaborate closely with product engineering teams, actively addressing their needs and working as a part of the SRE guild to create a world-class platform for our products.
What you will be doing:
- Collaborate with various teams to identify areas of improvement and enhance Podium's systems, making them safer and more pleasant to operate.
- Engage with Podium's engineering community, actively seeking feedback and addressing pain points to continuously improve the platform.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for the services owned by the team, effectively triaging and resolving production and development issues.
- Work cross-functionally with different teams to ensure minimal downtime for our products.
- Utilize a wide range of technologies, including Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, AWS, Terraform, Datadog, Prometheus, Ansible, StrongDM, Python, Go, GitLab, and GitLab CI.
- Providing guidance and support to junior Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) within the team, fostering their growth and development.
What you should have:
- 6+ years of experience working in a software engineer or systems engineer role within a production environment.
- Strong expertise in deploying, operating, and debugging server software on Linux.
- Inquisitive nature and a strong desire to learn and stay updated with emerging technologies.
- Willingness to take part in a rotating on-call shift.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative without constant supervision, consistently meeting or exceeding goals and objectives.
What we hope you have:
- Experience working with distributed systems and microservices.
- Practical knowledge of system design principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in containerization concepts, including Dockerfiles and container orchestration.
- Proficiency in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards like SOC2, HIPAA, PCI, etc.
- Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Extensive background in heavy infrastructure management.
- Experience with incident management.
