About the role:
We are seeking a Senior Fullstack Developer to join our team and work on our internal match platform. Our internal match platform is now transforming to become the main staff platform for Andela, this means that we are increasing the amount of demand around this tool. The internal match platform is the platform that brings value for matchers to better execute their jobs and improves their performance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end development, with proficiency in React and Node.js. Knowledge of Python is a significant plus. This role demands not only technical expertise but also leadership skills, as the developer will be expected to guide and be a leading reference for the team.
Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in React and Node.js for full-stack development.
- Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD and how to conduct deployments.
- Knowledge of GitFlow and methodologies to control branches and repositories.
- Capable of working asynchronously.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in guiding a team.
- Experience with Python is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of web development practices and principles.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining web applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the front-end and back-end of our internal match platform.
- Ensure the responsiveness and efficiency of applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Mentor and support team members, providing guidance and leadership.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team improvement initiatives.
