Senior SRE / DevOps
Full time - permanent role - Paris or full remote from EU - 70-95k + shares
Job Description
We're looking for someone to be a Site Reliability Engineer at Kiln. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
1) Building the product: You'll be working closely with the Product and Infrastructure teams to plan, architect, and implement our core product. You'll take part in the construction of the roadmap, with the rest of the team. It includes:
- Use current infrastructure & ramp-up on Kiln's workflow
- Actively suggest continuous improvement of Kiln's architecture
- Deploying new blockchain protocols on Kiln's infrastructure
- Assess any protocol deployment risks
- Help our Software team deploy our products, tailor our platform (AWS, K8S, Terraform) to answer their needs and our customers's needs
2) Owning what you build:
- As you architect, test, and refine the Kiln platform, you will ensure that our services communicate with each other seamlessly, have minimal downtime, and recover quickly
- Communicate with our Product & Sales team to make sure they understand any risk that may occur during protocol's deployment
- Make sure we respect any software security norms (Kiln is a SOC 2 Type 1 company)
3) Helping grow the Team: Everyone on the early team plays an important role in attracting, closing, and growing other talented team members. You can also mentor junior SRE/DevOps.

Skills & background
- 4+ years of experience working with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and with Continuous Integration / Deployment
- Knowledgeable about GitOps and/or Flux
- Comfortable with Terraform and Hashicorp Vault
- Previous experience in infrastructure security
- Strong judgment with the ability to ship opinionated architectural choices and code, and to share software best practices
- Strong communication skills both in French & English
- Experience designing, building, and deploying user-facing, and/or API-based products is a plus
- Experience coding in Golang is a plus
Soft skills :
- Curiosity and ability to dig into a topic and follow through
- Team spirit: discuss, do not try to impose
- Be pragmatic to not over-engineer unnecessarily: startups need to quickly adapt
- Clear communication & trust: adapt to interlocutor and explain concepts
- Real interest about blockchain/crypto

- Mostly in Golang with a bit of Javascript and Typescript
- Smart contracts are written in Solidity
- Communication between services is done using HTTP Rest and our main database is PostgreSQL.
