Senior Talent Acquisiton Partner
Leonardo.Ai is an Australian tech startup with a mission to unleash the world's creativity with its groundbreaking AI-powered platform. In just 18 months after our launch, we've quickly grown to over 20 million users worldwide and joined forces with one of Australia's biggest success stories - Canva - while still operating as a standalone company.
We’re looking for a Senior Recruiter to join us during a period of scaling to help grow our team from 130 to over 200 team members.
You'll either have a track record of recruiting for commercial hires or deeply technical roles, with a particular focus on AI and machine learning. This role requires a strategic thinker who can identify top talent, build strong relationships, and contribute to our rapid global growth.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a diverse candidate pipeline for current and future hiring needs across multiple disciplines.
- Partner with hiring managers to articulate their hiring needs and develop effective sourcing and hiring strategies.
- Support hiring managers to design effective and inclusive interviews that drive fair assessment of candidates throughout each stage of the hiring process.
- Source, screen, and qualify diverse candidates for deeply technical roles, including AI researchers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, software developers, and other related positions.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from initial candidate contact to offer acceptance, making sure that every candidate we speak to has an excellent experience with us regardless of their interview outcome.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive intelligence to inform recruitment strategies.
Requirements
- Solid experience working in Talent Acquisition, with a focus on technical roles (even better if you’ve hired for AI roles before!)
- Experience working in a tech startup or high-growth environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with candidates and hiring managers.
- Strong understanding of how to put representation, diversity and inclusion at the centre of hiring processes.
- Experienced in sourcing candidates to build strong pipelines for roles and identify passive talent.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute effective recruitment strategies.
- Confident user of applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and other recruiting tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for technology and a keen interest in the development of the AI industry.

Typical Interview Process
While we love technology, rest assured that our interview process is all human. A Talent team member will review your application, and we'll contact you either way to let you know the outcome. Here's what you can expect.
Round 1 - Meet Your Recruiter:
- Our Talent team will reach out and arrange a 30-minute video call where you'll cover your experience, skills, and career motivations. You'll also get essential context about the role, the team, and how you can contribute towards our goals.
Round 2 - Craft Interview:
- You'll meet some team members to discuss the technical task in more depth, work through some technical questions related to your expertise and cover past projects, experience and career aspirations.
Round 3 - Technical Task:
- If you're applying for a technical role, you may be given a short take-home task to assess your skills and approach to problem-solving. This could be a real-life business scenario to unpack, a presentation, a test or a collaboration exercise. (Please note, depending on the role, the order of rounds 2 & 3 are interchangeable)
Round 4 - Values interview:
- You'll be able to meet with the Department Head for a short, informal conversation to understand your potential impact, the growth area we can support, and how aligned you are with our values and culture.
Important Information
If there are any adjustments we can make that would make you more comfortable at any point in the interview process, please don't hesitate to let us know.
