About the role (the mission, why this role exists, the thing you do over and over again) 

  • Develop and maintain tools and pipelines for efficient asset creation and integration.
  • Identify and communicate technical limitations and potential solutions for art assets and game systems.
  • Implement a customizable avatar pipeline that scales with the content growth and performs on target platforms
  • Implement UI and art assets in Unity, and guide, mentor and train the rest of the art team on best practices for Unity UI and art assets implementation.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of advanced shader systems for the game, optimizing them for performance on target platforms while maintaining high visual fidelity.
  • Create simple but compelling visual effects and particle effects within the limitations of style, size and memory of our game.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and design, to ensure consistency and quality across the game.

  • A set of pipeline tools and workflows to enable seamless asset creation, reducing errors and improving collaboration between art and design teams.
  • Simple but effective VFX features and systems, collaborate with the team to maintain a consistent visual style, quality and efficiency.
  • Up to date technical documentation for optimization techniques and share knowledge with the team to ensure best practices.
  • A project that runs at a high level of performance across multiple platforms.
  • Effective mentorship and guidance of the rest of the art team for Unity UI and art assets implementation
  • Effective communication and collaboration with the art, design, and programming teams. 

What you’ll need to be successful (competencies) 

  • Excellent knowledge of the Unity game engine, Unity UI system and scripting.
  • Experience with character rigging and customization pipelines in Maya and Unity
  • Extensive experience in in performance profiling and optimization of game assets, shaders, particles and VFX for mobile and web based games.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize rigs and animations for maximum performance and quality.
  • Good proficiency with HLSL, GLSL or Cg.
  • Strong understanding of game mechanics and ability to implement complex game systems.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to other artists on the team.
  • Strong ability to debug complex technical issues and find creative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
