Senior Technical Accounting Manager
PagerDuty is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager to join our Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting team. This position will be primarily responsible for preparing and coordinating all aspects of the quarterly and annual financial reporting process. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated team player with a very strong working knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparation of the Company’s external financial reporting process, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-Ks, ensuring financial statements are in accordance with U.S. GAAP guidelines
- Ensures quality control over the Forms 10-K and 10-Q
- Support all other SEC filings including the Proxy statement and 8-Ks
- Perform preliminary review of iXBRL tagging of financial statements and footnotes
- Successfully collaborate with other accounting, finance, and legal teams and external auditors to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statement disclosures
- Analyze new and proposed accounting standards, determine the impact on the Company, and assist in the implementation of new accounting standards, as required
- Assist in technical accounting research for any complex, unusual and/or significant transactions and provide technical accounting guidance across all functions ensuring compliance with applicable GAAP and disclosure requirements; provide findings to management and participate in discussions with external auditors.
- Maintain, update, and evaluate accounting policies & procedures in line with U.S. GAAP
- Liaise and manage the coordination with external auditors during quarterly and annual financial reviews and audits.
- Responsible for the maintenance of SOX 404 including documentation of processes and procedures for external and other reporting functions
- Support all close and reporting activities as part of the financial reporting team
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting/technical accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Familiarity with and interpreting SEC Reg. S-X and S-K rules
Preferred Qualifications
- SaaS industry experience
- Previous, relevant work experience at a Big 4 Accounting firm
- Experience solving and documenting complex technical accounting issues
- Previous experience with Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Proxy Statements, etc.
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manages competing priorities, and adheres to tight deadlines
- Keen analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Ability to deal effectively with all levels of an organization, from clerical staff to executives, and manage relationships with external parties
- Seen as the go-to person to research and understand technical accounting concepts
- Deep understanding of reporting requirements and proactively research new accounting and SEC reporting regulations
- Proactive in seeking out efficiencies in accounting processes and determine solutions for issues or recurring problems and then implement these to make impactful changes
The base salary range for this position is $142,000 - $217,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.
Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.
