Senior Technical Product Manager, Data

We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager, Data to join our team. You will partner closely across product, engineering, data, marketing and sales to help analyze & create context to help our teams make better decisions.
What you’ll do:
- Develop a deep understanding of Articulate’s mission and how data fits into driving deeper business value
- Act as a conduit between DRIs and the Data Engineering & Analytics team
- Document and translate business requirements, assessing business impact and driving prioritization based upon company and team goals
- Maintain a deep understanding of core SaaS metrics (Marketing & Web, Product, Sales, Success, Support, Finance), gaps in these and balance filling these gaps with other Data Engineering and Analytics roadmap priorities
- Communicate your team’s plans, work-in-progress, and results with other product teams, sales, finance, success and any other partners vital to your team’s success
- Help our teams identify the best strategies for data governance, quality and understanding
- Determine how to measure the impact of your work and adjust your plan based on what you’ve learned
What you should have:
Since our Product Managers are highly collaborative, we’re looking for someone with proven experience shipping real work in collaboration with a team of engineers and internal business teams.
You should also have experience executing product roadmaps and creating plans to meet milestones and goals. This is a great opportunity to take your past experiences with product strategy, project management, and cross-functional collaboration, and blend them into a high-impact role.

The minimum qualifications for this role include:
- 6+ years of Product Management experience.
- A deep understanding on standard Saas metrics needed for business decisions and reporting out to the board
- Extensive knowledge of growing SAAS applications, prospect, customer and finance systems and data flows
- Experience driving product, strategy, and technical discussions, leveraging standard PM frameworks that drive planning, decision making, risk mitigation and ultimately successful execution of our data product strategy
Preferred qualifications for this role include:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to Business Stakeholders
- Experience working or building integrations between CRM, ERP, and/or HRIS system (Salesforce, etc…)
- Experience working within a global SaaS business
- Demonstrated ability to quickly absorb technical concepts and effectively simplify and communicate them to a non-technical audience
- Previous experience working directly with development teams comprised of software engineers
- Experience with accurately translating requirements from Business Stakeholders and transforming them into future development opportunities.
- Experience working within an Agile environment is a plus
How you’ll grow:
Within 1 month you will…
- Complete Articulate’s Ramp Camp program alongside other new Articulate team members. You’ll gain a broader understanding of our product and how your role fits into the organization.
- Complete introductory training with the People Team, Engineering, Marketing and Design teams to begin understanding our current processes and pain points
- Partner with the VP of Product to set initial priorities and align on expectations for your role.
- Start building relationships with engineers and system admins in your product team (we call them “squads”) as well as across the broader Product Management team.
- Start building relationships with key stakeholders on internal business teams. Including, Corp IT, Engineering, Finance, People Team, and more.
- Try using the Articulate product yourself—to see it the way a customer does.
Within 3 months you will…
- Lead day-to-day prioritization and execution for your team delivering value every 2 weeks. You’ll review requirements, write user stories, prioritize the backlog, and organize releases.
- Understand the tools and engineering behind Articulate’s existing Growth practice, Learn this tooling well enough so that you can predict some product trade-offs and ask your team productive questions.
- Learn the ins and outs of our onboarding process, billing systems, payment processors, pricing, plans, and data models; including getting into the weeds.
- Establish credibility and trust across your team and key internal partners
- Collaborate with other product managers for cross-team problem-solving and feature delivery.
Within 6 months you will…
- Begin analyzing our qualitative and quantitative metrics to start forming hypotheses to maximize the efficiency of our customers.
- Facilitate quarterly roadmap planning for your team and represent the plan to the rest of Articulate’s product teams, including executive leadership.
- See a high-impact project through from start to finish. You’ll assume ownership for the results of your team’s releases and how you learn from them.
- Start developing a deep understanding of data and identify key opportunities to automate delivery and ensure data quality, accurate/centralized reporting, and overall trust in our tooling and data.
- Begin efficiently accessing and analyzing the data needed to support adjacent teams using Redshift, Tableau, and other analytics tools
Within 12 months you will...
- Own your team’s performance against business goals and metrics
- Follow technical trends in the industry. Make recommendations on which new technologies to invest in or leverage.
- Own the platform and drive the technology roadmap to build scalable, maintainable, and reliable platforms.
- Be ready to help solve the next phase of team problems -- including things we maybe haven’t even anticipated yet!

The pay range for this position is $150,000 to $225,000 for all US locations. Articulate takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
