What the job involves

Hayden AI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Writer to join our team. The Technical Writer will be responsible for owning the creation and management of documentation, including service manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), training manuals, and other technical documents. This role will collaborate closely with the field and engineering teams to ensure the accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness of documentation across various projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive service manuals, SOPs, training manuals, and other technical documentation in accordance with company standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering and field teams to gather information, review technical specifications, and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Translate complex technical concepts and processes into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation tailored to diverse audiences, including technicians, operators, and end-users.
  • Manage documentation lifecycle, including drafting, editing, formatting, version control, and distribution, ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of existing documentation to identify areas for improvement, updates, and enhancements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, quality assurance, and customer support, to gather feedback and incorporate changes into documentation as needed.
  • Support training and onboarding initiatives by developing training materials, presentations, and job aids to facilitate knowledge transfer and skill development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field, and 5+ years of experience in technical writing. Prior startup experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a technical writer, with a strong portfolio of documentation samples demonstrating proficiency in creating clear, concise, and effective technical documentation.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of technical concepts and terminology, with the ability to translate complex information into accessible and user-friendly content.
  • Proficiency in document authoring tools and software, such as Adobe Indesign,
  • Confluence, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, review content, and drive consensus.
