About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our expanding Technical Documentation team, dedicated to developing product documentation, troubleshooting guides, and learning resources aimed at enhancing customer self-serve capabilities and increasing the adoption of our products.
In this role, you will establish a strong and enduring partnership with multiple stakeholders across the company to enhance our user content experience. Success in this position requires an adept technical writer with SaaS documentation experience, ensuring seamless organization, easy navigation, and optimal search functionality.

In This Role, You Will
- Collaborate closely with product managers, support engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and comprehend technical information for documentation purposes
- Guide the planning and execution of documentation projects, ensuring alignment with software/hardware development timelines and objectives
- Use a content management system (CMS) to draft, review, and publish technical information for product end users
- Utilize advanced knowledge of documentation tools, standards, and platforms to streamline content creation, review, and publication processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for documentation quality, incorporating user feedback, and staying current with industry best practices
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum Requirements For The Role
- A BA or BS in a related field (English or Computer Science), or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in the technical writing field, with a successful track record of designing, authoring, and delivering online technical documentation
- Demonstrated command of the English language, both written and spoken, ensuring the production of clear and accurate documentation for an English-speaking audience
- Strong technical writing skills and impeccable written and oral communication skills, grammar skills, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with one or more CMS systems such as Paligo or Zendesk Guide.
An Ideal Candidate Also Has
- Experience in building content analytics reports and dashboards leveraging Google Analytics, Zendesk Analytics, or similar tools
- Ability to create engaging multimedia content, including quick tip videos and visual aids, to supplement and enrich technical documentation.
