What do we need

We’re looking to build truly industry-changing experiences for our millions of users but we need some help.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and talented Product Designer (UX) to come and join our dedicated centre-of-excellence at Dotmatics. There’s a huge opportunity to make a real impact. You’ll get to work with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers and Scientists. You’ll get to evolve our design system and pattern library, and most importantly, build end-to-end insight-driven experiences across the whole UX design spectrum. Your designs will impact millions of users who are increasing our scientific understanding of biology, chemistry, and microbiology. It’s a great time to join us.

In this role you will get to

  • Ownership of Delivery: Be accountable for the successful delivery of experience designs, collaborating closely with product managers and engineers to ensure desirability, feasibility and viability.
  • Information Architecture: Create user flows, site maps, and wireframes that clearly articulate experience design concepts.
  • Continuous Improvement: Unremittingly keep abreast of industry trends and product insight to maintain high standards in design quality.
  • Design Leadership: Mentor and inspire other members of the Product Design team to foster a culture of creativity.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present experience design concepts and strategies incorporating insight collected along design process.

We are looking for at least 7 years experience as a UX or Product Designer with preferably a bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Computer Science or a related relevant experience in this field. You should be able to demonstrate previous experience as a UX Designer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your design process and final high-fidelity products.

The key skills we are looking for are: 

  • Proficiency in Figma is essential; particularly the use of design system components, variables and properties.
  • Project Management: Delivering complex projects working with cross functional teams
  • User-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Information Architecture (IA): Ability to organize and structure content effectively. including creating site maps, user flows, and navigation systems that align with user needs and goals.

You may also have experience in: 

  • Agile methodologies.
  • Building interactive prototypes in Figma.
  • Chromatic and/or Storybook.
  • Digital accessibility standards and regulations
  • Content strategy and how it influences user experience.
