Senior UX Designer

Our growing User Experience Team is looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our efforts to bring a consumer-grade experience to Unanet’s enterprise platforms. What You’ll Do 

Understand the industry and be the voice of the user for internal teams. 

  • Gain a deep familiarity with the industry, our business, competitors, customers, and the employees who use our software to complete their daily tasks. 
  • Work with the Director of User Experience and Principal UX Designer to work through research activities in our user research backlog. 
  • Engage our user research panel, Unanet First Look, as well as collaborate with our internal subject matter experts to understand and define the problems, personas, and experiences of the end users. 
  • Work with the Director of User Experience and Principal UX Designer to drive innovative UX product visions based on discoveries from your user research activities.  
  • Collaborate with product managers, technical leads, customers, and other stakeholders to introduce, iterate, and clarify requirements.
  • Thoughtfully present research and discovery findings with internal teams to drive empathy for the end user and user-centered decisions. 

Design complex enterprise software that solves real employee problems. 

  • Through both independent and collaborative design methods, create low and high-fidelity ideations of possible design solutions. 
  • Translate complex product requirements into simple, intuitive user flows. 
  • Take a data-driven approach to influence visual and interaction design decisions. 
  • Validate solutions, solve problems and meet user needs through usability testing. 
  • Present solutions with internal and external business stakeholders and gain buy-in through storytelling. 
  • Oversee the maintenance and application of visual design standards. 
  • Work with the Product Manager to define success metrics that drive desired business and UX outcomes. 

 Be a tireless advocate for exceptional user experiences.  

  • Explain ideas, designs, and best practices to successfully convince, motivate, and inspire stakeholders. 
  • Navigate conflict resolution within the teams as well as within projects and customer relationships. 
  • Drive overall UX maturity of the organization by coaching and collaborating with other UX designers on the team. 
  • Championing prioritization of design centered product enhancements grounded in research and analysis.  
  • Advocate for user-focused design, representing the voice of Unanet users throughout the design process.  

 Your First 90 Days 

In your First 30 Days, your focus will be on understanding current products and users. You will utilize the learning platform, knowledge base, and marketing collateral for specific product training on both industry and the first product initiatives on which you will focus. You will meet with internal stakeholders to begin building those relationships and learn from their experience as well. You will work directly with the Director of User Experience to become familiar with our current processes including the user research backlog, research and design processes, and early adopter programs.  

In Days 30 – 60, your focus will shift to the research and design of product initiatives and take on a user research backlog item. You will work with internal stakeholders on initial discovery then work closely with the Director of User Experience to plan and run your first user research session to understand user needs, pain points, and whether your proposed solution will solve their problems. You will engage with Product Managers to groom user stories, user flows, and high-fidelity concepts.  

In Days 60 – 90, you will continue to refine and finalize concepts. You will update any current UX artifacts including user personas or competitive matrices based on your research findings. You will begin working on stories for other parts of the application and get more familiar with more teams. You will engage with two different development teams and Product Managers to groom user stories. You will assist development during regular scrum ceremonies by providing quick solutions to unblock their work. You will work with the Director of User Experience to start defining your career goals and path at Unanet. 

Who You Are 

  • 5+ years of experience designing enterprise web and mobile applications. 
  • Direct experience across a range of intermediate design approaches and methodologies, from workshop facilitation, journey mapping, persona development, and similar activities.
  • A proven track record of delivering simple, intuitive experiences for complex, data-heavy user problems and delivering strategic business value across multiple product channels.
  • Must be adept at working in a matrix position where results must be achieved across various departments without line authority 
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Expertise with design and prototyping tools, such as Figma as well as developing and maintaining component libraries.
  • Experience pivoting and navigating dynamic and changing situations.

The salary range for this opportunity is $100,000 - $120,000 per year. You will be eligible for discretionary bonus compensation, subject to plans that may be in effect from time to time.
