Senior Vice President of Operations

As the Senior Vice President of Alma’s Operations team, you will play a critical role in leading the team, driving technological innovation, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. With a strong focus on empathy and connection, you will contribute to our mission of improving access to high-quality, affordable mental health care through supporting mental health providers in their private practices. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact both in a growing start-up company and on the world via our mission-driven work.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance to our Operations team, spanning Credentialing, Eligibility Check, Claims, and Member Onboarding. These teams encompass 100+ employees, including salaried and a large hourly workforce. 
  • Set clear goals, foster a positive work culture, and inspire team members to deliver high-quality work while promoting personal and professional growth.
  • Encourage collaboration, creativity, and innovation among team members to drive the development of technology solutions.
  • Leverage your expertise in technology to provide strategic insights and solutions that transform systems with an eye toward efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership, product & engineering, marketing, and other key stakeholders to delivery on strategic goals.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration by fostering effective communication, mutual understanding, and shared accountability.
  • Uphold and promote the company's values including our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Who you are:

  • You have 10+ years of experience managing a multi-layer team (managing managers), including developing strong leaders underneath you, with a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • You have managed a team of 100+ full time employees in a hyper-growth environment.
  • You have a strong track record of leading high-performing teams and driving results in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
  • You have strong analytical and problem solving skills, with experience structuring data in Excel, leveraging BI tools (like Looker), and can break down complex issues into structured frameworks and actionable insights to rally stakeholders and your team to take action.
  • You have experience developing and building processes for a high transaction volume business.
  • You have excellent communication skills, including the ability to express complexity in a simple way and to inspire others with your vision.
  • You have cultural humility, can build relationships across differences, and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • You may have healthcare industry experience (a big plus).
  • You are passionate about our mission and the future of mental healthcare.

Salary Band: $250,000 - $280,000

Alma’s compensation philosophy is driven by our company value of building equity.
