But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our growing team! 

This position will be based out of our headquarters in San Mateo, California. We are conveniently located near CalTrain, and Highways 280 and 101. We also offer a flexible schedule so employees can work remotely when necessary.

What You’ll Do:

  • Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
  • Build solutions to manage platform infrastructure and applications
  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, and innovating to continually improve
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for our applications

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Gather and review metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Participate in system design, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
  • Mentor NOC team and other members of SRE team
  • Participate in on-call rotation

The Right Fit:

  • 7+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline
  • Ability to program with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous success in technical engineering
  • Coding experience beyond simple scripts
  • Previous experience being part of a 24/7 production environment
  • Previous experience being Tech Lead for a project

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. 

The base pay range for this position is $130,000 to $190,000.
