About the role:

The Site Reliability Engineering team in CaptivateIQ operates horizontally across the engineering organization, supporting our development teams by providing them with the tools and processes they need to operate in a frictionless manner. We provide the infrastructure needed to run our production platform, and are responsible for the reliable and scalable operation of that platform. SRE owns observability services (including Datadog) at CaptivateIQ, which are used across Engineering to keep tabs on performance, availability and proactively addressing potential bottlenecks in the system. Although every team at CIQ owns their own production services, SRE partners closely with product engineering teams on issues that affect the product as a whole.

Ideal candidate locations will be North America in the Central or East Coast US/Canada time zones.

Please note this position involves participation in a regular oncall rotation.

Responsibilities:

  • Help engineering teams deliver safe, reliable services to production.
  • Design, develop and maintain our infrastructure as we grow to take on more customers and more complex use cases.
  • Develop monitoring and dashboards to ensure we have adequate visibility into all aspects of our application’s performance and stability.
  • Implement systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on the AWS platform.
  • Document everything so your findings turn into repeatable actions; automate everything.
  • Help curate a collection of detailed runbooks and incident response plans to respond to issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Ensure CaptivateIQ adheres to its compliance and security requirements.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in an SRE or DevOps role
  • Familiarity with security, deployment, and management for AWS
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to support our infrastructure management and deployment pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions.
  • Some experience with scripting skills (Python, Bash)
  • Sharp attention to detail, solutions-oriented, and a user-centric focus

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, time-series, tracing, and APM
  • Familiarity with Terraform Cloud
  • Experience with cost implications of AWS-based cloud solutions

$126,000 - $169,331 a year

CaptivateIQ takes a market-based approach to pay, and the base salary range for this job posting shows the minimum and maximum target starting base salary. The successful candidate’s starting base salary will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related skills, relevant experience, education, work location, market conditions, and other factors. This range may be modified in the future. Certain positions may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and other benefits.
