Social Media Manager
Reporting to the Group Publisher, the Social Media Manager will lead Nautilus’ organic social media strategy, as well as support marketing campaigns to increase Nautilus paid membership and brand partnerships.
An ideal candidate will understand how to use social media to grow and engage audiences in the unique language of each channel.
In addition to daily posting, this role will work closely with other audience development team members to map and execute a social strategy across platforms, report on performance, deliver actions and insights, as well as manage daily writing, editing, community engagement, and making recommendations for the visual direction of Nautilus’ social content.
The role’s success will be measurable, by metrics like engagement rate, channel growth, improvements in churn, and conversions from social campaigns to newsletter subscribers and paid members.
Responsibilities:
- Works with editorial to develop a consistent publishing cadence across all channels.
- Sets a clearly defined organic social strategy by channel.
- Translates Nautilus stories into social ones: reposting a headline is not enough.
- Works with marketing to support and schedule various membership and brand campaigns on social.
- Makes proactive recommendations for new channels and tactics–act as the in-house expert on social media and identify opportunities.
- Engages with and moderate comments across platforms, daily, to ensure we’re attentive and helpful to fans.
- Routes complaints through customer service when unanswerable.
- Creates new format/series ideas, purpose built for social.
- Provides weekly reports on top and bottom performing content, and assessments that seek to identify why.
