HX5 is currently seeking a software application developer to join our team in support of software testing and evaluation for the Army Corps of Engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform automated and manual testing and evaluation of automated information
  • systems (AIS) for the deployment of the FUDS Portal.
  • Review and analyze system and business specifications, requirement documents, and critical design documents for the AIS being evaluated.
  • Create, maintain, and execute detailed and complete test cases based on their review of the requirement and design documentation.
  • Perform initial and regression testing of the AIS across all environments using the test cases and identify any defects.
  • Review, analyze, and document test case results.
  • Create detailed test reports that identify defects/bugs and communicate these results effectively with the developers.
  • Perform regression testing as needed upon correction of defects.
  • Perform testing that includes, but not limited to, performance testing, code reviews, database assessments, and security testing.
  • Log all tasks into Team Foundation Server or some other project planning software to meet audit requirements.

Education, Experience and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or another related field is preferred.
  • Must be able to translate functional requirements into technical specifications for the development of the software application.
  • Ability to conduct analysis development and maintenance of software.
  • Ability to modify and create systems software and ensure systems efficiency and integrity.
  • Ability to translate detailed design into executable software.
  • Ability to test, debug, and refine the software to produce the required product.
  • Ability to prepare required documentation, including block diagrams, logic flow charts and software program documentation.
  • Must be a US citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must have a positive National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
  • Must be able to obtain a CompTIA Security+ CE within 45 days of starting.
