About the Role

Twitch's Mobile Engineering team develops native applications for the Android platform. This platform represents an ever-growing share of Twitch viewership and providing functional and delightful experiences on them is important to user engagement. As an Android Software Engineer on our Community Discovery Engagement Mobile Team, you will help us build and deliver new features for the mobile app and contribute to team planning, design, and architecture discussions. You will work with modern technologies like Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and GraphQL to contribute to a mobile developer platform. You will report to our Senior Manager of Engineering.

You Will:

  • Develop and deliver new product features for our Android application
  • Improve engineering processes to increase the teams effectiveness
  • Contribute to team planning and design discussions
  • Measure the impact of large and small features to deliver value to our viewers and creators

You Have:

  • 1+ years of application development experience and some Android development experience
  • Experience communicating complicated technical problems to both technical and business audiences
  • Experience writing secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects

Bonus Points

  • Proficiency with Kotlin and the Android development ecosystem
  • Familiarity or experience working with GraphQL APIs, CI / CD, or AWS
  • A talent for building agreement around technical decisions and guiding the team along evolving architecture patterns

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
