About the Team and Role:
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to contribute to Poe, our exciting AI product. You'll play a vital role building new features from the ground up, as a member of a team driving new user growth, monetization, or AI chat and bot products.
Your role will involve planning and implementing new features, contributing to front-end and back-end development, and taking shared ownership of the cross-functional product development cycle. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Product Designers, Engineers, Data Scientists, and QA to deliver interactive, intuitive AI-powered user experiences on Poe
- Iterate quickly on projects, from ideation to launch, using the full web technology stack
- Be a champion for both user experience and for sustainable, scalable code practices
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to be available for meetings and impromptu communication during Quora's “coordination hours" (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time)
- 2+ years of full-time professional experience building consumer web products (excluding internships)
- Excellent Python and JavaScript development skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript
- Professional experience leveraging backend storage systems such as MySQL, MyRocks, Memcached, or Redis
Preferred Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional experience shipping user-facing features as a full-stack developer
- 2+ years of professional experience with React, Typescript, and GraphQL
- Passion for Quora’s products and mission

There are many factors that will determine the starting pay, including but not limited to experience, location, education, and business needs.
- US candidates only: For Colorado based applicants, the minimum base salary range is $94,400 - $185,300 USD + equity + benefits. For California, New Jersey, New York, and Washington based applicants, the minimum salary range is $94,400 - $218,000 USD + equity + benefits.
- British Columbia Candidates Only: For British Columbia based applicants, the minimum base salary range is $95,000 - $219,800 CAD + equity + benefits.
