About the role

As a Software Engineering Manager, you’ll build best-in-class digital payment and business tools unlike anything else on the market. Together with our team of top-notch engineers, you’ll create financial products that help thousands of merchants grow their businesses.

Currently, our product offering is unlike anything else on the market — with unique features including one-day setup and no-code installation. We're constantly developing exciting new features, and we'd love your help.

What you'll do:

  • Architect High-Scale Payment Systems: Lead the development and optimization of our payment architecture using PHP and Laravel, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and responsiveness to meet business demands.
  • Mentor and Develop Engineering Talent: Provide ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities to engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.
  • Lead Team and Project Management: Set clear team goals and project timelines, oversee day-to-day engineering activities, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Drive Hiring Initiatives: Actively participate in the recruitment process to attract and retain high-caliber talent, enhancing team capabilities and supporting strategic growth.
  • Implement DevOps Practices: Oversee the integration of DevOps methodologies to improve system reliability and streamline deployment processes, enhancing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Uphold and Enhance Security Measures: Ensure the integrity and security of payment systems by implementing industry-best practices and conducting regular security assessments.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Work closely with product management, QA, and operational teams to align engineering outputs with user needs and company goals.
  • Promote Innovation and Efficiency: Encourage innovative thinking and efficiency improvements through technology evaluation, process refinement, and adoption of cutting-edge tools and practices.

What we’re looking for:

  • Extensive Experience in Payments: You have at least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing, building, and managing payment systems. You are well-versed in the complexities of payment processing, compliance, and security.
  • Seasoned Software Engineering Background: You possess over 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in PHP and Laravel, and have a deep understanding of software development life cycles, architecture design, and best practices.
  • Proven Leadership: You have led a technical team for more than 5 years, demonstrating strong leadership skills, the ability to mentor and grow teams, and a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Startup Environment Expertise: You have thrived in high-growth startup environments, demonstrating the ability to adapt quickly, make decisive actions, and drive significant tech initiatives under dynamic conditions.
  • Strategic Thinker: You excel at strategic planning and execution, with a keen ability to translate business goals into engineering reality. You are adept at balancing technical, business, and team needs to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Strong Communication Skills: You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
