How will you make an impact?

You will be both a business/domain and tech savvy individual, who can develop an overall understanding of assigned products or solutions that involve more than one product. While working closely with Product Managers, Architects, Product Owners and Engineering Directors to deliver best-in class products, you will also demonstrate relevant business/domain expertise, understanding of relevant strategic business goals and product vision while having insight into current product functionality to deliver products as per the roadmaps. Your focus will be to evolve our Thermo Fisher Connect platform which delivers a world leading digital framework for science via a coordinated suite of scientific instruments, applications, and services.

What will you do?

  • Lead multi-functional team of developers, product owners, scrum masters to deliver outstanding products based on quarterly and release roadmaps provided.
  • Actively participate within all aspects of a laboratory management applications/product delivery.
  • Assist with technical designs, solutions, development, and operations (including health monitoring) from DevOps and DevSecOps perspective.
  • Be a domain DevOps expert for the scrum teams providing quarterly DevOps roadmaps, calling out the DevOps related risks and the overall DevOps vision in collaboration with the senior leaders, architects, solution owners and product managers
  • Provide interpersonal, product and technical leadership to product teams consisting of both full time and contracted employees.
  • Prioritize security, performance, reliability, support and maintainability for all laboratory management solutions.
  • Maintain a level of involvement and actively participate in product delivery; ensure DevOps related work items gets prioritized in the quarterly PI commitments.
  • Accept working in a fast-paced environment, works independently and constantly reassesses priorities, and optimally delegates work to others as needed.
  • Act as an inspiring leader, forward looking, continued knowledge of industry trends and practices

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent years of professional experience will be considered; Master’s degree a plus

Experience

  • 15+ years of software delivery experience with 5+ years of leading technical teams and people management
  • DevOps and DevSecOps expertise including setting up CI/CD pipelines - Helm Charts, Installation Package Builds, Kubernetes based cluster deployments based on Kubernetes, AWS Cloud Infrastructure knowledge, Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible etc.
  • Prior development experience, delivering projects using Java, Spring, or similar language/web-frameworks
  • Experience using microservices, containers, Kubernetes, and tools such as Datadog, Splunk helpful
  • Good knowledge of unit/automated tests (BDD/TDD), CI/CD, DevOps, Agile, SAFe desired
  • Consistent track record of taking ownership and providing technical leadership during critical production issue solving sessions
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams in delivering a high-quality product(s)
  • Experience with goal setting, evaluating performance of team members, crafting development plans and compensation planning; will have a passion for team hiring, mentoring, and career building
