How will you make an impact?

The Product Manager – Software/Bioinformatics will provide leadership and execution for products across the Clinical Sequencing Division (CSD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This person will manage the on-market Ion Reporter™ Software which is an essential tool for the algorithmic analysis and reporting solutions of the division’s wide portfolio of research and clinical applications using Ion Torrent™ Next Generation Sequencers. S/he will support developing solutions for application areas including Oncology, Reproductive Health, Inherited Disease, and Microbial Detection. S/he will be responsible for development of informatics product strategy, definition, positioning, and management of product lifecycle.

What will you do?

  • Manage on-market Ion Reporter™ Software supporting multiple Ion Torrent™ Sequencing platforms and application areas including Oncology, Reproductive Health, Inherited Disease, and Microbial Detection.
  • Conduct customer interviews and develop customer/product requirements.
  • Define use cases & personas in alignment with CSD's market strategy and through customer communications.
  • Understand, express, and facilitate world class user interface/experience development through writing requirements, and working closely with assay product managers and the software development teams.
  • Generate presentation materials and deliver internal and external trainings.

How will you get here?

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's with 8 years’ experience, Masters with 6 years’ experience or PhD degree with 3 years’ experience. Preferred degree: Bioinformatics / Computer Science (preferred), Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related degree required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Customer facing experience including roles such as technical support, product support, software product specialist or software product management.
  • Familiarity with genomics, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), molecular biology products, and analysis software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate value proposition and technical information to a range of customer and internal audiences.
  • Knowledgeable about software development or scientific software development with prior experience in programming or coding.

The salary range estimated for this position is $115,000 - $129,000. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
