Job Description

The Solution Product Manager – Geospatial is responsible for defining our market opportunities, assessing competition, understanding customers’ needs, creating partner ecosystem, and being an expert on our technical capability, to drive development of new solutions and significantly impact Nearmap’s growth. Solution Product Managers initiate investigations of new solution opportunities and drive business cases that include market analysis, Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies, new technologies, operations requirements, partnerships, financial modelling, early customer engagement, and validation of designs that deliver an exceptional user experience.

  • Be the authoritative point of reference for the Government and Commercial verticals within the company. Maintain a deep understanding of the verticals, including market dynamics, needs and opportunities, current and emerging trends, as well as traditional and disruptive factors affecting the industry.
  • Champion new solutions to drive new revenue.
  • Develop strategies to increase adoption, usage, and revenue of existing products.
  • Understand market opportunities and customer problems to innovate solutions.
  • Work closely with Technical Product Managers, Product Marketers, and Designers to ensure product-market fit.
  • Develop Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies and provide leadership for their execution across the company.
  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to ensure value propositions and solution capabilities are effectively communicated to the market and customers.
  • Assist Sales where needed to ensure solutions are effectively sold.
  • Ensure solutions are compelling, competitive and profitable.
  • Ensure Nearmap’s backend systems and operations align with solution and GTM objectives.
  • Track against the product delivery milestones and update the rest of the organization on the progress of solution initiatives.
  • Define and track metrics for our business and solutions that enable Nearmap to continually improve and optimize.
  • Deep understanding of the Government and Commercial segments, with comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of geospatial workflows.
  • Deep understanding of Land Development, Property Analysis, Solar Analysis, Property Assessment, Transportation, Utilities, Planning, Public Safety is highly desirable.
  • Regularly converse with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to gather customer pain points and opportunities, and impediments to selling/upselling.
  • Regularly converse with customers to understand how Nearmap products are used and perceived, and opportunities to solve additional customer problems and upsell.
  • Communicate findings back to Nearmap stakeholders in a form that drives action and improvement.
  • Regularly converse with ecosystem partners, including technology platform providers, channel partners, analysts, media to boost Nearmap’s profile and presence.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management with expertise in AEC, Local Government, Land and Property Management, or related Location Intelligence Technology with a strong data element.
  • Start-up experience highly desired.
  • Ability to effectively perform customer discovery, particularly with a view to validate viability (economic, functional, etc) of potential new solutions or features.
  • Geospatial technology, remote sensing, BIM, including familiarity with Esri, Autodesk, Bentley products.
  • Ability to write clear, concise business cases and product requirements.
  • Proven track record of getting things done, managing multiple tasks including communication with internal and external teams whilst consistently delivering on schedule.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to derive insights from diverse data sets
  • Ability to define workflow integration solutions and business cases
  • Ability to work across Enterprise and SMB customer products and delivery methods
  • Ability to build business cases looking incorporating key personas, systems, and unique value
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinker and revenue driven.
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.
  • Degree in GIS, City Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field.
