A Solutions Architect in Brightcove’s Global Services (BGS) team is adept at presenting technical solutions to address customer and prospect business requirements. The role will consist of engaging to understand customer challenges then illustrating and presenting highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that both address their needs and accelerate the adoption of Brightcove products and services. You will help customers and prospects define complete end-to-end solutions that leverage Brightcove products, 3rd party products, and custom solutions built by BGS. You’ll prepare technical documentation and perform detailed discovery workshops to fully understand customer use-cases and requirements. You will also help develop Proof-of-Concepts to both help sell and close opportunities.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about media and video who can take leadership in interacting with publishers and content owners on a technical level. The candidate must be highly motivated, extremely technical, team-oriented, creative, and possess outstanding communication skills. You will be asked to maintain working knowledge of engineering and complex aspects of our products and answer complex questions on functionality and usage. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Develop a deep understanding of customers’ goals and objectives and translate that knowledge into clear and effective technical documentation.
  • Communicate and drive highly complex technology solutions to broad audiences within and outside of IT through diagrams, written and verbal presentations and communication.
  • Work with customers’ senior leadership and within Brightcove to make sure the customers’ needs are met with our professional services solutions.
  • Develop technical solutions for client-specific use cases.
  • Work with Brightcove internal stakeholders (i.e., Product, Management, Support, etc.) to ensure solution designs can be maintained and supported for the long-term success of our customers.
  • Travel when necessary to meet customers.
  • Remain up-to-date on cutting edge technologies and effectively incorporate that knowledge into solution designs that best solve our customers’ needs.
  • Work with the Brightcove Services Engineering team to come up with cost estimates and levels of effort.

Qualifications/Experience 

  • 8+ years of experience working with customers in a technical presales capacity.
  • Experience in streaming media or video space is a must.
  • Must be self-sufficient to drive multiple opportunities independently, under supervision from a senior team member.
  • Experience selling and implementing technology to earn a customer’s trust.
  • Understand video industry technologies including Authentication/Authorization systems, OSS/BSS systems, analytics collection, advertising, and payment gateways.
  • Solid level of video industry acumen; keeps current with trends and able to converse with clients on issues and challenges.
  • Experience architecting complex, highly available, and highly scalable web applications.
  • A demonstrated ability of working with customers to understand their business requirements as well as their technical requirements, then have the ability to clearly document them to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience creatively architecting solutions tying in multiple disparate technologies to solve a customer’s unique business problem.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate and sell the benefits of modern platforms, software, and technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences, and be able to handle objections extemporaneously.
  • A history of successful customer relations done by developing an understanding of what made a difference, devising architectures that helped meet a goal, tackle a problem, or outpace competitors.
  • Comfortable creating technical documentation, including Technical Design Documents, Solution Documents, and Technical Specifications.
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with client-side tools and technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, in-browser debugging, etc.); knowledge of client side frameworks such as React, VueJS, or Angular a plus.
  • Proficiency with at least one server-side language (Python, Node.js, Java, etc.) required.
  • Experience with cloud deployment technologies required; AWS technologies (ECS, Lambda, APIGateway) strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with OVP and Mobile solutions preferred.
  • Experience with native mobile app development a plus.
  • Experience with AppleTV, Roku, AndroidTV, or Chromecast development a plus.

$110,400—$165,600 USD
