Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Experience with in-platform paid social media buying is not required, but is a plus

This position will support media buying for the entire Nationwide Enterprise, including Nationwide Financial, Property & Casualty, and Emerging Business Group.

Internal Note: Compensation Grade F3

Nationwide pays based on a geographic-specific salary structure. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range. The role may also be eligible for either short-term or long-term incentive plans based on business and/or position-specific results. Newly hired full-time associates receive a minimum of 18 days paid time off each full calendar year, pro-rated quarterly based on hire date. Newly hired full-time associates at higher job levels may receive additional paid time off. You will also receive 8 hours of Lifetime paid time off and 8 hours of Unity Day paid time off. The range for this role is listed below.

In Washington, the salary range for Specialist Media Planning & Buying is $86,500 to $109,000.

As a Specialist, Media Planning & Buying, you’ll support digital media campaigns working directly with tech partners, media publishers, advertising agencies, and internal partners. Specific responsibilities will include media/data negotiations, building campaign proposals for digital media buys, and leading campaign performance/optimization.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Makes the best use of advertising and marketing technology platforms to build, implement and optimize paid digital media campaigns.
  • Pulls campaign performance data and builds data visualization reports to present results to internal and external partners on a regular basis.
  • Generates campaign performance insights and optimization recommendations. Applies optimization recommendations on a daily/weekly basis to continuously improve campaign performance.
  • Performs post-launch quality assurance. Uses demand side platform and ad server data to ensure campaign is running as expected. As needed, troubleshoots with agency partners, publishers, and tech partners.
  • Collaborates with other marketing teams to identify digital tracking requirements and ensure correct implementation of media, creative and website tags.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager/Director. This is an individual contributor role.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field, e.g., business, finance, communication, etc. preferred.

Experience: Typically, five or more years demonstrated experience in digital media

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Knowledge of the principles of digital media development and execution, and the programmatic media supply chain. Knowledge of current practices in leading programmatic and social campaigns. Understanding of digital media tools, including demand side platforms, ad servers, and web analytics tools. Strong communication skills. Working skills in project planning, executing, and implementing. Critical thinking and listening skills. Proven analytical skills with fact-based approach to solving business problems. Ability to lead and prioritize projects; function independently or in a team environment; adjust to ambiguous work or project environments; and quickly pick up and comprehend foreign concepts and practices.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, proficiencies and experiences may take precedence.
