Position Summary 

DroneUp is seeking a Cloud Solutions Engineer that will be responsible for day to day management and improvements to user productivity apps, unified endpoint management, cloud-based network access control, and cloud computing systems.. The Cloud Solutions Engineer will have a high level view of the current status of systems and a good understanding of issues such as interconnectivity, information security, computer resources, and software applications.. This position will also deploy, support,and maintain cloud based infrastructure and the associated systems and processes. This role will be comfortable in Identifying requirements, developing and executing large-scale projects to improve infrastructure, deployments, and user experience through automation. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain modern desktop/device management solutions for Windows 10, MacOS, Android, and iOS with various MDM Platforms 
  • Package, test, and deploy applications for Windows 10, MacOS, Android, and iOS 
  • Administration of cloud-based identity and access management (IAM) systems
  • Work with Azure and GCP cloud platforms to build, deploy and administer applications using automation wherever possible
  • Plan, build, and maintain cloud-based networking infrastructure at DroneUp locations 
  • Monitor systems performance and provide reports to management 
  • Deploy, scale, and document new SaaS applications and advise/assist business units using these applications to solve their challenges
  • Respond to incidents/outages, service and change control requests, and act as a technical escalation resource to others on the team 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation of implementations and operational procedures
  • Stay up-to-date with current and emerging technologies 
  • Provide hands-on assistance to ensure all projects and deliverables are completed accurately and on time, including deployment of projects and initiatives 
  • Communicate well with others, including those with less of a technical mind-set
  • Procure hardware, software, and other IT related equipment as needed 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience with cloud services and 8 years of system administration or engineering experience 
  • Experience supporting cloud-based and SaaS applications, including, but not limited to Okta, Windows and MacOS configuration management, Atlassian suite, and Google Workspace 
  • Experience building and maintaining systems within Azure, GCP, or AWS 
  • Experience operating within compliance controls and guidelines such as NIST 800-53, SOC 2 Type 2 or ISO 27001
  • 3-5 years of networking experience preferably with Cisco Meraki and/or Juniper.  
  • Knowledge of best practices around engineering, data security and identity 
  • Self-starter that is able to operate independently in daily operations, downtime or outage situations with a proven ability to work in a team environment
  • Expert level knowledge of macOS, Ubuntu, and/or Windows operating systems 
  • In-depth knowledge of IT systems including email, identity, system monitoring, and device management 
  • Experience participating in a 24/7 on-call schedule without supervision and successfully resolving issues without escalation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills

Preferred

  • Experience developing with API’s to interconnect applications and build workflows to provide efficient user lifecycle management through code and no-code environments
  • IaC experience using tools such as Terraform 
  • Experience with GitOps for infrastructure operations
  • Endpoint management experience with Intune and Ivanti (formerly MobileIron)
  • Experience working in or understanding of agile frameworks
  • Experience with LTE networking and optimization
  • Hold one or more of the following certifications: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or GCP Cloud Engineer

Salary

Just like drones themselves, your earning potential can soar to new heights, but it largely depends on your qualifications and expertise. If you are recognized as an industry expert, your earning potential can take true flight. The target salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000. Your unique qualifications and contributions to the field will play a significant role in determining your precise compensation. The total rewards for this position may also include; potential for annual bonuses, benefits package, paid time off, and more.
