Position

The Sr. Director of Engineering is responsible for overseeing the engineering and quality teams at CodeScience. They serve as the leader of the technical team which include developers, quality assurance and quality engineers. . Their responsibilities broadly include resource management, performance coaching and skills development. They will also work closely with the Professional Services, Sales and HR Leadership teams to serve as the advocate for their team, and ensure their perspectives are included in key decisions and initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Team Management:
  • Day to day oversight of our technical consultants
  • Manage relationships and performance of near or offshore teams
  • Act as a point of escalation for team member performance and client engagement related issues
  • Mentor and develop your team to ensure they can become their best selves
  • Consult on staffing needs of the engagement based on the deliverables and services within the SOW or CO.
  • Facilitate communication and resolve conflict
  • Strategic Leadership:
  • Define and enable development best practices and work with other technical leaders to provide continually learning to the team
  • Partner with the Director of Technology to analyze industry technology and innovation and recommend investments to evolve our solutions and service offerings
  • Work with senior leadership to drive technical initiatives while also helping set overall technical objectives and strategy.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of compensation programs and recommend changes based on market conditions
  • Evaluate and implement programs for attracting, hiring and retaining top notch technical talent
  • Participate in the development of 1-5 year strategies, goals, and objectives to accomplish operational and growth targets

Experience & Skills

Required

  • 10+ years technology consulting or similar experience
  • 7+ years of experience working with the Force.com platform
  • 5+ years managing engineering teams larger than 20 consultants
  • Agile delivery experience
  • Experience delivering Enterprise grade solutions
  • Rich background utilizing a variety of programming languages (ideally Apex, Lightning Web Components, JavaScript, Java, React)
  • Advanced understanding of design patterns and coding practices especially as applied to multi-tenant environments and web technologies
  • Strong understanding of modern DevOps methodology, including Git based workflows and CI/CD
  • Experience working with remote teams, both onshore, near-shore and off-shore
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to articulate concepts to both technical and non technical audiences
  • Escalation mitigation skills

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
  • ISV product development experience
  • Management of near and offshore partners and teams
