Position Summary:
The Senior Finance Manager role will support Pricing and Contracts Excellence across the $0.6B+ Microbiology Division (MBD) within the Specialty Diagnostics Group. The candidate will build out and lead a dispersed team acting as a strategic partner to drive profitable growth through effective price realization, contracts compliance and commercial share gains. He will be responsible for leading strategic transformation within MBD to elevate and sustain the division’s long-term pricing and value expansion capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Development & Improvement
- Design MBD global pricing and contracting strategic roadmap, driving initiatives to enhance and sustain pricing & contracting capabilities across Division and commercial teams in both short and long-term
- Collaborate with key stakeholders within the Commercial, Finance, Sales Operations and Legal to define clear roles and responsibilities, capabilities and design/improve processes and tools.
- Build, hire, and coach an impactful Contracts and pricing team and create a successful work environment
Business partnering & Analysis
- Enhance annual price roll process by analyzing pricing performance and aligning pricing strategies with the Division overarching business objectives
- Own the review and enhancement of the pricing approval & governance process and discounting framework, balancing price control, commercial efficiency, and strategic growth objectives
- Drive discount discipline through pricing trainings, workshops, and regular business reviews
- Oversees the contract development process, including pre- and post-deal analysis, contract compliance, GPO administration & compliance
- Partner with the Global Strategic Pricing team to identify, develop, and implement industry-leading pricing strategies, practices, and models
Financial Reporting & Forecasting
- Lead pricing reporting and performance reviews with both Divisional and Group leadership
- Monthly rebate reconciliation, liaise with distributor to enhance process and alignment
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance or other related fields
- Minimum 10 years of proven experience leading a strong and dynamic team in a large corporate environment to accomplish ground-breaking goals and build sustained pricing and contracting capabilities
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Data Analytics tools; experience solving complex business problems using Data Analytics and Data Science
- Proven track record creating a vibrant, collaborative team culture and developing strong relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional business partners
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills in large group settings with senior business leaders; ability to persuade and reconcile diverse points of view
- Ability to craft and influence decisions in a high-energy, fast-paced, highly matrixed environment based on accurate and timely data analysis, handling change and complexity to improve gross margin performance
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing a dynamic distributed team to enable professional and technical growth as well as talent retention
- Ability to identify process and control gaps and champion improvement initiatives through continual practical process improvement
Preferred Experience:
Within Healthcare, with Strategic pricing in a manufacturing environment, with GPO administration, contracting through distribution and rebate reporting & analysis
Ability to work independently as well as in a group setting with little direction at times
Occasional travel can be expected with this position
