Sr Manager of Engineering, DevOps

Our Engineering team supports 1upHealth vision for a cloud-native infrastructure enabling FHIR-based health data interoperability and compute across the healthcare ecosystem, that enables providers/ACOs, digital health companies, and pharma to operate better across risk, quality, care and experience.
We are looking for a Senior Manager, DevOps to lead the secure development and delivery of the 1upHealth data cloud-native platform. As Senior Manager of Engineering, DevOps reporting to the Director of Cloud Engineering, you will lead 1upHealth teams to develop and scale the 1upHealth FHIR platform developer experience and site reliability. In collaboration with other engineering leaders, you will use a metrics-based approach and industry frameworks to ensure the efficacy of the developer experience and availability of all services.
You will:
- Attract, inspire, and retain engineers.
- Partner with teams across the organization to deliver DevOps roadmaps with predictability.
- Direct technical implementation and delivery of developer experience, and site reliability of the AWS-based 1upHealth FHIR Interoperability platform.
- Partner with our Application Security team to Ensure the security of our customers' data using secure development practices that align with industry best practices.
- Work across the organization to optimize the 1upHealth platform for scalability while reducing its overall cost of operation.
- Deliver DevOps as a product, using Agile SCRUM methods and foster a metrics-based DevSecOps software development culture.
We are looking for people who have:
- Success leading and growing developer experience and site reliability teams.
- Hands-on experience as a DevOps engineer and technical leader.
- Technical ability to problem solve with engineers for architectural trade-offs and technology selections.
- Experience directing metrics-based secure software development. Must have a working knowledge of industry standard data security best practices.
- Proficiency with a CI/CD pipeline technology such as Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, or GitHub Actions etc.
- Proficiency with a package repository such as Artifactory, AWS CodeArtifact, or GitHub Packages etc.
- Experience with container methodologies: Docker, Kubernetes.
- Experience with tools and methodologies for:
- monitoring: AWS CloudWatch, DataDog
- incident management: PagerDuty, OpsGenie
- infrastructure orchestration: Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation
- An understanding of distributed AWS web application architecture principles
- Competency in one or more programming languages; Python or Javascript
- Proficiency with Linux and Bash scripting
You may also have:
- Experience building health technology-based products and services based on current HL7v2 and FHIR standards.
- BS/MS Computer Science / Software Engineering or commensurate prior experience
