We're looking for a creative, technical, collaborative, and highly motivated Senior Marketing Content Writer with an unquestionable passion for cybersecurity. The successful candidate has proven experience developing clear, compelling, and exceptionally high-quality marketing content and copy for a cybersecurity company. Top-notch writing, editing, storytelling, and proofreading skills are table stakes, along with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and proofread a wide range of content types to support brand awareness, media relations, demand generation, and to accelerate the sales cycle, including presentations for webinars and in-person events, conference presentation abstracts and submissions, blogs, threat research, emails, e-books, white papers, infographics, landing pages, case studies, videos, interactive web pages, and more.
- Proactively generate ideas for long and short form content that speaks to different cybersecurity buyer personas at different stages of the buying cycle, that captures the ExtraHop brand, and communicates the value of our products to customers, prospects, and partners.
- Manage multiple content projects simultaneously and shepherd your work through all stages of the development process, from ideation to writing, editing, obtaining internal/external reviews/approvals, revisions, proofreading, and all the way through publication and post-publication content performance analysis.
- Publish blogs and update the blog hub page in our content management system.
- Regularly report on the performance of corporate marketing content and recommend optimizations.
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders across the marketing team and other parts of the business to support product launches, demand generation campaigns, events, and other strategic initiatives.
- Develop a clear understanding of corporate and product messaging, the ExtraHop value proposition, competitive differentiation, and placement in the market.
- Stay up to date on cybersecurity trends and news and find timely new ways to position ExtraHop in the market.
- Interview internal and external subject matter experts; conduct and analyze primary and secondary research to develop content.
- Curate content from meetings/interviews with senior management for new content, white papers and other thought-leadership opportunities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Five or more years of experience writing professionally about cybersecurity, preferably for a company that sells cybersecurity products or services.
- Exceptional research, communication, storytelling, writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Proven ability to distill and convey complex, technical topics and messaging in a clear, engaging manner across a variety of formats.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver clean, polished copy on deadline.
- Ability to stay organized and on top of different projects and deadlines.
- Outstanding project management skills; experience with Asana preferred.
- Knowledge of SEO and SEM best practices.
- Familiarity with/Experience writing about network security, endpoint security, zero trust, XDR, risk management, business resilience, and related topics.
- The confidence, polish, and professionalism required to work with the most senior executives at ExtraHop and at customer organizations.
- Experience writing for both a C-level and practitioner/analyst-level audience.
- Ability to work and publish blogs in a content management system.
- Understanding of the B2B buyer’s journey and the sales and marketing funnel.
- Intellectual curiosity, self-motivated, and passionate about cybersecurity.
- Knowledge of financial services, public sector, and/or healthcare industries is a plus.
- Must provide a portfolio of writing samples with an explanation of why you chose them upon request.
- B.A. in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Communications from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of work experience.
$105,000- $135,000 + benefits+ options
