Primary Responsibilities:

  • Full Expatriate product lifecycle management, including strategy, design, development, management, and end of life for products - with heaviest focus on management of current portfolio
  • Strategic oversight for all active current programs and vendors that support the Expatriate product proposition, including the Global Care Card program and associated vendor relationship(s)
  • Demonstrate understanding of the competitive landscape (strengths, weaknesses, gaps, threats, trends) and help to define the core capabilities that distinguish us in the marketplace
  • Supports and in some cases lead strategic execution for new insurance solution build and development efforts
  • Creates product specifications and owns clearly articulating them to all stakeholders
  • Supports operations and training leads in development of training materials, user guides, and FAQs for new product features and workflows
  • Reviews product performance against expectations and facilitates or influences changes to product portfolio to improve, including reporting responsibilities
  • Interfaces with Network, Legal, Regulatory, Operations, Actuary, HCE and other teams to ensure coordinated alignment on product needs
  • Demonstrates an understanding of synergies across the portfolio and how to meet market needs and continue to drive growth
  • Understands and evaluates enterprise-wide assets as portfolio expansions to improve our competitive position and drive customer value
  • Leverages market insights to understand market/customer needs to identify new opportunities or adjust current product offerings
  • Delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs
  • Partners with Product and Operations teams in understanding target markets, user wants, needs, feedback and motivations to inform product roadmap and feature backlog
  • Adheres to standard procedures for developing, iterating, and launching business cases and related associated product features

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of product management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with both fully insured product solutions and ASO products (administrative services only)
  • Experience building PowerPoint presentations for senior leadership
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across multiple business units
  • Demonstrated leadership experience including management of cross functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment, and deal with ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to bring fresh ideas and new thinking and confidence to challenge the status quo
  • Demonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to build solid relationships and collaborate across a variety of stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Solid project, time, and resource management skills
  • Financial aptitude and ability to translate product decisions into financial impact
  • Proven record of communication with senior and executive leadership when required
  • Proven track record working effectively in a highly fluid environment
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically across a dynamic set of corporate goals and objectives
  • Ability to identify problems, find root cause(s), develop solution alternatives and drive resolution cross functionally

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, Washington or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, Washington or New York City residents is $101,200 to $184,000. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
