Product Marketing at Docker is an exciting and dynamic role that works closely with product management, sales, marketing, and customer success through all stages of the product lifecycle. We are a vibrant group of technologists, who obsess over finding ways to discover, position, message, package, and launch products in ways that no one else does. In this role, you will lead product marketing for our Developer tools business unit (BU). You’ll be in charge of making sure that new services and features create a big splash and excite developers, developing sales assets, participating in roadmap development, tracking and reporting on pipeline, and maintaining a marketing calendar.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need experience working with developers and a technical knowledge of developer tools, you’ll need to know how to work with growth marketing and demand gen, you’ll need a relentless drive to try new things, and an eye for detail. Your long-term success will depend on your ability own the GTM strategy for your BU, and scale your services. Most importantly, you’ll need to be okay with taking ownership of big objectives with big goals, working autonomously, and maintaining a bias for action.
Responsibilities:
- Own your BU’s messaging and how that ladders up to Dockers corporate message
- Provide weekly pipeline reports
- Manage a marketing calendar
- Track and report on campaign effectiveness
- Create enterprise sales assets
Qualifications:
- +5 years of marketing experience
- Strong understanding of the developer audience and developer tools
- Experience building lifecycle marketing campaigns
- Startup experience is a plus
- What to expect in the first 30 days:
- Get to know the team, product, and customer
- Develop a campaign strategy and launch process
- Develop a plan to achieve 2023 OKRs
- What to expect in the first 90 days:
- Contribute meaningfully to the BU
- Build consensus around new processes and campaign strategies with your GTM teams
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of your BU’s roadmap
- What to expect in the first year:
- Lead multiple Tier 1-3 product launches
- Successfully lead multiple marketing campaigns
- Align messaging across Events, Customer Success, Marketing, and Sales teams
