Sr. Security Engineer
About You
You’re a software engineer with a deep security background, who loves autonomy and self-direction. You have experience coding in a variety of languages, as well as setting up SIEMs and other systems to monitor security-related events. You enjoy collaborating with others as well as working independently to accomplish your goals.
About the Job
You’ll join the distributed Constructor security team, which is responsible for both corporate and infrastructure security. You’ll be working with our CISO, our devops team, and our software engineers to create systems to monitor and improve security, help other engineers effectively write secure code, and test our systems to ensure they’re secure.
This role will have a large say in determining security priorities and enhancing Constructor’s security posture.
Requirements
Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Writing code (in Python, Ruby, and Javascript) to add and improve security features in our codebases
- Working with other engineers to review code for vulnerabilities
- Reviewing and improving our production security architecture
- Performing regular pen tests and scans
- Running periodic mock incident response sessions
- Responding to security incidents
Requirements
You will be successful in this role if you're described by some of the below:
- Have at least 5 years of experience working as a security professional
- Have experience working with many programming languages, including Python, Ruby, and Javascript
- Have experience setting up and maintaining security platforms, SIEMs, and monitoring systems
- Have worked at a high-traffic website with highly available and robust systems
- Pick up new ideas and technologies quickly, love learning and talking to others about them
- Enjoy helping others around you
- Can work independently
