Sr. SEO & ASO Lead

We are seeking an extremely seasoned and data-oriented Manager, SEO and ASO to join our Growth team to deliver top visibility and engagement for 1Password products across the world’s largest search engines. In this role, you will drive our SEO and ASO strategies to increase multi-product traffic, self-service signups, and sales leads for B2B segments, while also driving traffic and signups for B2C as part of our global marketing team. You are excited to lead strategic planning, channel data management, external partners, and internal stakeholders to validate, represent, align, and act on high-performance SEO and ASO opportunities for a variety of 1Password teams. You’ll define processes and ways of working between marketing, content, product, design, analytics, and engineering to maximize cross-functional efficiency and execute timelines for global SEO and ASO work. We are looking for a naturally curious, motivated, and analytical leader who can efficiently coordinate opportunities, develop and execute KPIs, and report on SEO and ASO performance strategies regularly to stakeholders and executive teams.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
- 7-10 years of experience in SEO, content strategy required, SEM experience a plus
- 4 years of experience defining marketing processes in multi-disciplinary environments
- 2 years of experience in mobile, desktop, and browser extension app store optimization
- 2 years of agency management experience
- 2 years of managing people
- Advanced knowledge of channel marketing strategies and processes to help us fortify the foundation for SEO and ASO programs
- Up to date on the latest trends in ASO and SEO best practices, Google quality guidelines, and ranking factors
- Expert with tools like Looker, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, AppTweak, etc.
- Deep understanding of marketing data management to support SEO and ASO channel reporting
- Experience with both self-service B2C, B2B, and sales assisted motions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience presenting to executive audiences
- Skilled at partnering and gaining support from content, engineering, design, product, and marketing teams
- Knowledge of A/B testing and best practices
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and deliver high-quality work with attention to detail
- Positive attitude, grit, flexibility, curiosity, and problem-solving growth mentality
What you can expect:
- Partner with marketing stakeholders, analytics, finance, and leadership to develop global SEO and ASO strategies through data-driven planning, opportunity assessment, and reporting to identify critical KPIs, set goals, and forecast performance for ongoing optimization
- Manage an extended team of external agency and vendor partners, as well as an internal SEO Analyst to systematize processes that ultimately increase organic channel efficiency and impact across the marketing funnel
- Develop short-term and long-term SEO strategies, including keyword list management, site architecture, and content optimization recommendations
- Partner with the content, web, and campaigns teams to evolve how we integrate SEO recommendations into marketing project planning - from discovery and research through activation and reporting
- Manage all aspects of global ASO to optimize promotional placements, metadata, and media to improve app visibility and engagement across a variety of storefronts
- Coordinate with product, design, and analytics to plan, run, and report on A/B tests to improve app store engagement and downloads
- Keep up-to-date on the latest key industry trends and algorithm changes, as well as SEO and ASO best practices, strategies and technologies
- Report on plan results, insights, and recommendations weekly, monthly, and quarterly
- Strong leadership skills with an ability to inspire, develop, and lead a world-class team

- Be a part of a team to plan and develop new, creative ideas to support our customers understanding of the importance of security and privacy
- Until the Sr. SEO Analyst is hired, we will need this role to be “in the weeds” with BAU processes until their team is fully onboarding (~2 months)
USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $122,000 USD and $164,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $112,000 CAD and $152,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
