Sr. Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
This senior role entails a consultative and collaborative approach in obtaining consensus to support organizational goals by participating and sometimes leading cross-functional teams. The qualified candidate will be a key contributor in establishing global endpoint, software, and identity standards across various technology stacks through its full lifecycle following ITIL best practices for service management. Provide guidance, feedback, and support to existing application environments, identity provider integrations, and vulnerability remediation efforts while adhering to industry best practices for the management, configuration, and security of applications and systems. Research, test, and recommend emerging technologies and enhancements to improve operating outcomes with a focus on automation. Support the implementation, monitoring, auditing, reporting, and remediation of SOX, PCI-DSS, GDPR, and other certification, regulatory, or compliance requirements.
The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, documentation, integration, implementation, modification, and coordination of the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of hardware and software systems. Functions include conducting research to solve complex business problems; needs analyses; developing functional and technical requirements and design specifications; evaluates, recommends, plans and designs solutions; includes infrastructure, hardware, software systems, and middleware with the objective of seamless integration and simplified management; implementing security procedures and tools; maintaining systems configuration; managing the installation and integration of system patches updates, and enhancements; ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices.
Job Expectations:
- Serve as a technical lead for integrated systems and identify solutions to enhance operations.
- Provide expertise using consultative approach in the design, planning, implementation, operation, security, support, and management of systems and software.
- Lead and/or provide technical guidance to staff and teams.
- Lead and oversee departmental projects ensuring inclusion, collaboration, and buy-in.
- Develop processes and practices for the design, maintenance, and operation of systems to ensure consistent and repeatable outcomes.
- Develop and maintain automations to enforce standards and support operational efficiency.
- Design the configuration of systems in accordance with security frameworks and regulatory requirements; review policy requirements and implement appropriate controls.
- Assess and strengthen measures to control access to and use of critical assets.
- Implement new systems or continuously improve existing solutions to enhance user experience.
- Develop baseline standards for operating systems and applications.
- Provide oversight and management for new or existing systems, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Manage vendor relationships; consult with vendors to resolve system issues.
- Analyze the cost/benefit of emerging technology.
- Establish effective partnerships with HR, Internal Audit, and Security.
- May be responsible for various administrative and budget tasks.
- May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management.
- May participate in after hours, weekends, and holidays on-call support as needed.

Experience Requirements:
- 6-7+ years of system engineering experience in a fast-paced global environment.
- 3+ years of experience and expert level knowledge in maintaining Linux systems and open-source services.
- 3+ years of experience in design, implementation, and administration of collaboration & communication technologies such as Google Workspaces, O365, Slack, Atlassian, etc.
- 3+ years of experience administering SSO, AD as well as Client Platforms such as Mac and Windows
- 2+ years experience with one or more scripting languages, such as, Python, Go, JavaScript, or Ruby.
- Deep experience building, iterating-on and supporting complex integrations and automations for SaaS tooling at scale via API/SDK usage
- Basic understanding of networking technologies
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field and equivalent experience.
Judgment/Reasoning Ability: Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. The Team Member is frequently required to sit, walk, climb stairs, use hands and fingers, bend, stoop and reach with hands and arms. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. The Team Member may occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 25 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required. Work Environment: The noise in the work environment is usually moderate for those working onsite. Other factors are:

The anticipated pay scale for this position can be found below, however the pay range applicable to you may vary by geographic location based on where the job is located or where you work. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, etc. iHerb, LLC is a multi-state employer and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.
