Role Description

The Dropbox Tax Team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tax Manager, Tax Planning & Technical, reporting to the Associate Director, Tax Planning & Technical Lead. This role will partner and collaborate seamlessly with members of the Tax, Finance, Legal, Corporate Development and business teams to support corporate initiatives and lead tax planning and technical analysis for Dropbox.

In this role, you’ll bring enthusiasm for all things related to Tax and thrive teaming with other smart Tax folks to drive and deliver Dropbox projects and initiatives. You’ll be ready to roll up your sleeves to design and implement Tax processes, policies, best practices and frameworks to help scale a growing Tax team and function. You are self-starter who follows through, gets stuff done, and has a passion for navigating tax planning and technical analyses.

Responsibilities

Manage and execute tax planning strategies and initiatives, including both US and local country tax planning

Lead the development of quantitative analysis and tax modeling in support of tax strategies, reflecting recent US and global tax policies

Develop internal tax policy and process documentation

Identify tax issues and make recommendations for solutions

Research and analyze developments in domestic and international tax law, and document tax position in tax memoranda

Manage all tax aspects of business transactions, including business expansion, reorganizations, M&A, and post-acquisition integration/IP planning and document in tax memoranda

Collaborate tax planning and M&A strategies with accounting, legal, corporate development, and other business partners

Monitor and analyze existing and proposed tax policies and legislation and manage implementation

Support global tax reporting, compliance and controversy

Requirements

7+ years of U.S. International Tax experience (M&A experience is a plus) with progressively increasing responsibilities and accountability

Big Four Public Accounting or Law Firm experience combined with in-house tech company tax experience

CPA and/or MST/LLM

Technical expertise of US and International tax laws as well as general understanding of foreign corporate and indirect tax matters

Analytical experience with research and quantitative modeling skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Exceptional prioritization, project management, and organizational skills including an ability to synthesize complex tax matters into simple, concise communications

Ability to thrive in a Virtual First environment as well as with in-person collaboration

For candidates hired in San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $119,300 - $140,400 - $161,500 if you are assessed at the IC3 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC4 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $146,900 - $172,800 - $198,700.

For candidates hired in the following locations: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington (outside Seattle metro) and Washington DC metro, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $107,400 - $126,400 - $145,400 if you are assessed at the IC3 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC4 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $132,200 - $155,500 - $178,800.

For candidates hired in all other US locations, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for this role is currently $95,500 - $112,300 - $129,100 if you are assessed at the IC3 level. If you are instead assessed at the IC4 level, the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $117,500 - $138,200 - $158,900.

Range(s) is subject to change. Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation. Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
