Sr. Technical Writer

The Senior Technical Writer creates and manages the product and technical documentation for the Tackle product. You will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, the engineering team, and customer-facing teams. Attend engineering meetings and work with internal departments such as Sales, Marketing, Support, and Onboarding teams to collect, create, and publish technical knowledge for multiple audiences. In addition, you’ll create technical documentation, including infographics, training videos, and screenshot markups, among other high-quality instructional materials. As a senior writer, you will be a mentor to other members of the team, and assist in establishing tools, workflow, and guidance that other writers and subject matter experts will use to produce consistent, clear technical documentation. You will also write help topics, application messaging, and labels that give users a strong learning experience in our enterprise software.
What You'll Do:
- Develop comprehensive documentation, user guides, technical overviews, FAQs, and in-product support material that meets organizational standards
- Check for accuracy and consistency in both the product and the documentation
- Adapt to a fast-paced industry and modify duties, assignments, and objectives as needed
- Gain a deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content
- Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights into language for user success
- Develop and maintain a detailed database of reference materials, including research, usability tests, and design specifications
- Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement
- Collaborate well with UX, Product, and Engineering teams to understand Tackle’s product goals and audiences as you work
- Partner with subject matter experts across the company to deeply learn the Tackle platform and inform microcopy needs and technical topics
- Help to write and maintain technical user documentation, as needed
- Publish and maintain technical user documentation on a rigorous schedule.
- Research, outline, write, and edit content for new features, product releases, and updates.
- Develop customer-facing product content for website, product one-sheets, video scripts, and other identified collateral for both a technical and non-technical audience across multiple personas.
- Provide editorial support for documentation & enablement as needed.
- Research user needs and test your work. Have empathy for our users.

- Be familiar with Agile and unafraid of Github, Jira, and developer-centric workflow
- Contribute regularly to core areas of our design system
- Craft concise, clear product copy to meet product goals and user needs
- Establish and maintain the Documentation practice and support the UX writing practice at Tackle.
- Maintain the writing style guides. Embrace a “plain language” approach.
You Should Have:
- 5+ years writing and organizing technical documentation and product microcopy for enterprise products (B2B), including a senior role
- Experience writing for technical users or products that support integrations
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong UX writing skills and technical documentation experience.
- Experience creating and maintaining product documentation and UX writing guidelines and processes
- Excellent collaboration and written communication skills, with an eye for detail
- Experience writing for technical users or products that support integrations.
- Experience in working with engineers to improve user experience (ex: design, product, UX), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Prior experience in a SaaS-based company is preferred.
- Excellent English communication skills (written).
