Summary:

The Senior UI Designer is crucial in defining and implementing the user experience (UX) via strategic, breakthrough and modern user interface (UI) design for our company's digital assets. This role demands a blend of creativity and technical expertise, aimed at delivering adaptive and innovative solutions to design challenges. Must be passionate about staying ahead of the curve with the latest design practices and trends, ensuring that our digital experiences are user-centric, accessible, proprietary and engaging.

The Sr Designer will be at the forefront of crafting seamless and compelling user experiences and interfaces for our digital platforms. Will directly influence the usability and overall user satisfaction with our products. Collaboration is key, as the Sr Designer will work alongside a talented team of designers, developers, product managers, and stakeholders, employing expertise in design tools and technologies to turn visionary concepts into reality.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the UI design process, establishing a visionary direction for our websites, mobile apps, and other digital platforms.
  • Engage in collaborative design efforts, working closely with the design team and other departments to create user-centric designs that align with our brand identity, business goals and further galvanizes our brand’s digital expression.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive design system in Figma, ensuring consistency and efficiency across our digital products.
  • Partner with UX lead(s) to utilize data and user preferences to inform and iterate on design decisions, striving for continuous improvement in our digital experiences.
  • Participate in defining and refining our design and development processes, promoting a culture of efficiency and collaboration.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Exceptional ability to communicate visually, verbally, and in writing, with expertise in presenting, supporting choices and negotiating design concepts.
  • Proficiency in Figma, usertesting.com, Jira, and Confluence, with a solid understanding of the web and mobile ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong independent work ethic, complemented by the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Preferred: BA in design, graphics, HCI, or a related field, and a portfolio showcasing a wide range of top tier UI design skills. 4-6 years of relevant experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to comprehend and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Customer Service Relationships:

Requires moderate interpersonal and communication skills to ensure that customer requests or needs are met. Acknowledges and clarifies customer inquiries, requests, or complaints to ensure that needs are identified, documented and addressed.

Work Complexity:

Problems and issues faced are difficult and complex, and may require understanding of broader set of issues. Problems typically involve consideration of multiple issues and understanding of the financial/mortgage industry. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.
